you pay for a sangean radio and therefore you receive a quality product.
i had a previous model with the radio shack logo on it (same radio, made by sangean) so i was well aware how the sangean would perform: outstanding for its intended use.
i had previously been backpacking with my old sony shortwave but needed a replacement and found the sangean radio mentioned in the backpacking forums so i looked into it.
i'd say it is as good as my sangean wr-2 table top radio.
this sangean product solves the am reception problem and seems very durable.
the sangean dt200v is a super little radio with great clarity and provides a strong signal.
this sangean pocket radio, the dt-120, is very popular and has very good tuning and preset capabilities.
the sangean is the best little radio i have ever owned.
this small sangean digital am/fm radio is by far the best pocket radio i owned.
this sangean radio did everything with flying colors especially with weak stations.
i've been very happy with my sangean dt-210 v am/fm/tv pocket size digital radio!
the sangean hdt-1x hd radio component tuner works great for us.
that's where the sangean comes in...not only does this radio finally allow me to listen to two of my favorite radio stations, it also brings tv audio in clearly too!
when the sangean arrived, i was so happy that it had a rich, full sound and a lot of power for such a small radio.
it went out, so i ordered the sangean 210 and it blows away that old radio shack radio.
although you get a lot of radio for a few dollars, it would have been nice if sangean had included an ac adaptor.
this is my second sangean radio and they are both excellent.
i can easily say that a bad day with the sangean dt-110 is still better than the best day with any of the others.
so i simply have to accept the fact that it'll suddenly stop working without any warning whenever the batteries run out.but i thought "no way, that can't be true" so i contacted sangean.
having owned the sangean dt-110, the sangean dt-200vx as well as the sony srf-37v, i can readily say that i like all three pocket radios very much.
the sangean dt-110 arrived on time with earphones, case with belt clip and manual.
having a difficult, yet great sounding/receiving desktop sangean radio, that didn't come as a surprise, nor prevented me from buying this model that i still see as a good value & get long life out of
when i first saw the price i almost didn't buy the sangean because i thought it was crazy to pay that for a little am/fm radio, but i'm glad i read the reviews and ordered it anyway.
i contacted sangean and they replaced it for free.
i selected the dt-210v rather than other sangean models because it includes the bass boost.
features available on this sangean radio totally work as advertised.
suffice it to say that this is my 3rd sangean radio.
it can pick up fairly weak am and fm stations, though not as good as a non-portable sangean tuner.
i own the sangean dt-210v as well and it runs circles around the dt-400 in terms of am sensitivity.
i am happy to report that the selectivity and sensitivity of this sangean dt-400w radio has fulfilled my objective.
the folks at sangean clearly know what they are doing when it comes to am tuners based on this device's performance.
