i like to keep the anti-skip off, which extended battery life in my old panasonic player, and i heard from someone's review here at amazon that it also improves sound quality.
it comes without a 4.5 volt plug-in power block, but it has an outlet for one.

the long battery life saves money and the headphones saves mom's sanity.
it uses 4 c batteries which aren't included, so make sure you pick up a set, preferably rechargeable if you'll be putting it to daily use.
it took me an afternoon to complete the missions and then another to get all the power-ups from the q-lab.
pros: good battery life, fm tuner, firmware update cons: worst ever support, plastic case brakes easily (no replacement, no repair) the bottom line: would not buy anything again at sonic
pros: plays various formats + fm radio cons: unreliable, poor song nav features, *they're lying about battery life* the bottom line: try a different brand.
pros: rechargable batteries, fm tuner cons: battery life, plastic.
pros: great compatibility, rechargable batteries, reliable.
there's also a recharger built in for nihm batteries.
there were plugs for everything and turning on/off devices never gives any indication of surging or power fluctuation.
battery rechargeable function
one major drawback is that this players starts from song 1 whenever its powered on.
i do wish it had a backlight, and i'd have no problem losing some battery life (especially since it's awesome with this player), but i knew i was not getting that when i bought it.
- powerful controls.
battery life is unbelievable, when playing mp3's.
the battery life is as good or better than indicated on the package.
think there is less distortion of bass with the equalizer on this unit as compared to the bass boost on some other sonys.long battery life is a real plus, especially when using atrac formatted cds.
get yourself some rechargeable aa batteries, and you are all set.
other than that, i would suggest you buy rechargeable batteries for non-stop listening of the music.
note that the car adapter has the option of charging rechargable batteries if rechargables are in the cd player, but it does not have a sensor for when to stop charging, so you have to stop it
not to mention it has long battery life and has equalizer on the display.
the only practical way to use this player is with rechargeable batteries.
also, mine just uses one battery, and the battery life is great, i have had it for one week and still using the same alkaline battery.
the 50 hour battery life of this portable cd player is only one of it's many features.
otherwise, the long life of the single battery required to run the unit should make it easy to forget about ac adapters or rechargeable batteries.
i've actually had a panasonic in it (yes, it takes one battery) for three days now, it playing an average of eight hours a day, and it still shows full power.
otherwise, the long life of the single battery required to run the unit should make it easy to forget about ac adapters or rechargeables.
it has every thing i need as far as features, great sound quality and longer battery life than i would have expected.

especially saving its power on the two aa batteries.
i walk a lot, for exercise..the sound quality is the best i have ever had in a walkman and it has a long battery life..light weight and has not skipped once in all of the time i have used it...
battery life is typical for this type of product.
i haven't used it enough to see what the battery life is, but i use rechargeable batteries, so replacing the batteries won't be as costly.
however, battery life i got with new energizer batteries was two hours on fm radio plus 1.5 hours playing cds.
i guess i should have expected no power supply but it would have been nice to tell me where i can get one.
