In the first place, I’ve never had or used a portable CD player before. This one had features I thought I would need (AM/FM, Hold, skip protectin, runs on batteries or 4.5 Power.) Bought it so I could hear recorded educational lectures. from Qvc.com This Cd player is just what I need. We did not expect the from Amazon.com The radio is not digital, but an old dial in mechanism. I missed that in the product description, if it was there. This kind of product is on it's way out, unfortunately,as I like the combo of the AM with the FM and the CD player. This was perfect and just the right size until it just quit working. from Amazon.com The speakers built in to the CD Player are very quiet and low quality (I could barely even hear the music and watt I did hear was crackly). He loved it but really didn't understand how it worked. I thought the external speakers would be good for him since he didn't really understand CD players but he faired well with the headphones anyway. Suffice it to say that I'd gladly spend 2-3 times as much for another Panasonic personal player with onboard speakers than have to settle on a JWin. But unlike the other JWin I tried out (along with a GPX and Colby), this one plays even when it's moved and turned upside down. from Amazon.com
