price was the main factor for me and it seems to be the same size as some of the larger hard disc players out there.
had purchased for a christmas gift to replace an old minidisc player but didn't think of ordering it until the last minute.
yes, it's a bit larger than most of the current md's, but not much larger than my old sharp, and it's much smaller than my cd player.
this player is durable, compact, and, with my own car adaptor, i can play it while driving.
i got it for my birthday when i asked for an mp3 player (thinking i'd get an ipod), but i think i like this better!
i think he's really enjoying it though.
i was skeptical at first but this thing is amazing, it plays 45 hours of music with amazing sound quality.
it is small, bus powered (no need for bulky power supply), and each disk (about $7.00 each) holds 1gb of data!!
strengths: good sound, small size player, large capacity weaknesses: takes forever to transfer files.
will have to think hard about filling it weaknesses: takes a while to transfer the files to the pod.
because of the size, it can only show the track or the artist or the disc name, but the switch between the three is fairly easy, only two or three clicks.
it's durable too, i dropped it once real hard and it only got a small scratch (i hear ipods break real easily).
many people have said things like how bad the software is, but i thought it went quick!
it's light and small and you barely notice it strapped on your arm.
it was 269 for a 10 gb old style ipod, however it was kind of beat up.i realized its really not practical to buy that thing or any other flash mp3 player for that matter...
it requires only 1 aa-battery, you can store up to 5 hours of great quality music on each disc(each the fraction of the size of a cd, which could only store 80 min.
it it small so it fits in my pant pocket.
the only downside that i can think of is that it takes a little while for the songs to transfer.
the bad thing of this product is that you can't record from a line in or microphone, very bad.
i own an ipod which is nice to just keep at work but i have a fascination for mini discs that most may think makes no sense.
-the player is nicely sized (light-weight) and the camera takes excellent pictures for something so small.
the only downside is the small lens which makes low light pictures somewhat rough (but that can't be any different).
summary: i'm satified with this product so far with the small size and less power.
i'm satified with this product so far with the small size and less power.
the long battery life with just one aa-size battery and the superb sound quality are enough reasons for you to buy this player.
the bottom line: i like this thing quite a bit.
strengths: nice and small, good sound quality, long battery life, am/fm/tv/weatherband, and a remote control with lcd screen.
the bottom line: if you're looking for a plain device to record with at a small price, look no further.
pros: small cons: user unfriendly
pros: small, rechargeable battery, comes with usb computer to player connect kit (pc model) cons: awkward shape (lump in back of player), unnecessary digital to analog to digital conversion when
pros: small, lightweight, good battery life, doesn't need extra battery case, good value cons: short cord on headphones, no m/m stereo jack, bulge on back, real-time recording.

strengths: very good audio fidelity and volume; each mini-disc hold 6 hrs of music if recorded in atrac3™ audio; supports mp3, wma and wav, etc.; small and light; rugged construction.
for that price i can't complain about this small and feature-rich player.
i need something smaller for work.
sony i think makes the best electronic products and are the most reasonable when it comes to prices.
i have always needed a low-cost, compact, sound recorder that is easy enough to teach a groom to use in only a few minutes.
the sound on that thing was incomparable, only to minidisc, which gives you a warm studio sound.
i purchased this recorder and was shocked to discover how small it is -- it literally fits in the palm of your hand.
