Ive never had any problems with it, it works great if you (like myself) dont consider necesary to have 10000 songs on a device smaller than your hand wich will ocasionally leave you music-less in a year or two.

I've been a fan of Minidisc since the beginning, but the format is enjoying a long slow miserable death due to sony's handling of the roll out over the years and all but completly no marketing of the units in the states at all.
