they freeze too often, battery life is a joke, and for a product that has been out 3 years, there are still too many bugs in it.
it requires only 1 aa-battery, you can store up to 5 hours of great quality music on each disc(each the fraction of the size of a cd, which could only store 80 min.
and while this player will not store several gb's of music (like my sandisk does) the discs it uses each hold several hours of music and plays them using one standard aa battery.
as far as the battery goes i'm convinced that there are little elves that change it (one aa) when i'm not looking because in almost a year i have replaced the battery once.
the battery lasts for an eternity.
and it's easy to use.
it's easy to use, the buttons are very clear and just impossible to screw up.

battery live could be a bit better thats wy i just gave 4 stars, but it is not really a downside.
the battery is not that good when you use the main walkman, use mor the controler.
now, let's talk about the unit itself: in photo mode, one can snap about 100 decently looking photos on a battery charge, without flash.
extra long battery life.

the bottom line: the mini disc player is small has good recharable battery pack and can record.
4 on the rechargable and theoretically 17 on an aa.
records a wide variety of media, each minidisc can be written/rewritten an infinite number of times, unbelievable battery life.
