And as Dali's Dilemma is a prog band, no matter how good and experimental they are, they will never appeal to the masses becoming a part of popular culture. And they don't have to. It's best to let those who can appreciate art beauty be exposed to this CD.Manifesto for Futurism is their only album and an excellent one at that. I don't care about the never-ending Dream Theater comparisons; I've heard so many DT-influenced bands over the years that I feel, even if the guys in Dali's Dilemma were influenced by them, at least they managed to pull it off successfully.

In other words, the melodies and light touches are missing from DT's songs. DD, on the other hand, offers up a solid slab of progressive metal in a DT vein, but also manages to hold onto wondrous melodies and excellent singing courtesy of front man Matthew Bradley. The songs on Manifesto for Futurism uplift and hold my attention, unlike much of DT's recent output (albeit pre Six Degrees) that merely pulverized my ear drums and turned my brain to mush.Okay, so none of these guys can hold a candle to Portnoy, Petrucci, Myung and Rudess. But I prefer Dali vocalist Matthew Bradley to James LaBrie hands down.

A bit dissapointing. The production is very thin, and the complexity seems to serve no purpose - nor does it have any flow (with)in the tracks.
There needs to be both in the music to make a progressive band incredible. This is just my opinion, sorry if I offend DT lovers, but I do like them as well. Just don't think they should be the comparison for a progressive band. Rush has been doing it longer than any.
DUDES- EVERYONE GETS THEIR INFLUENCE FROM OTHER BANDS- STOP SAYING THESE GUYS ARE RIP-OFFS- ITS GREAT MUSIC---LEAVE IT AT THAT!!!!! GREAT ALBUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The singer is pretty awesome in my opinion which is what I consider the weak link in DT. I'd love to see these guys live! If you're looking for progressive this is definately it. These guys rock!
Good solid prog/hard rock with lots of tricky time changes and lush arrangements. Similar to Dream Theater, as all the other reviews point out, but much better than that overrated band.
If you love Dream Theater, you'll dig this album. If you have a problem with bands sounding like other bands, then avoid it and never listen to a radio again. ;-) Otherwise enjoy it for what it is, solid prog metal/rock.
It is not unfair to compare this album to Dream Theater, because it is entirely and completely a ripoff of the "Images and Words" sound. If all those tired generic progmetal tricks still turn you on, maybe this album will be OK for you. But in my view there is much more important stuff on this planet: Arcturus, Opeth, Nevermore, Mekong Delta, Therion,...
