i had heard that with the linux version of this machine, there is trouble with the built-in recorder, but not on the xp version -- it worked "out of the box".
changed that under linux.
i am just really disappointed i had to pay for the windows operating system; much better -and cheaper- would have been one of the many linux releases for netbooks.
some of them come with different hard drives (some with solid state hard drives), and some with different battery options (like a 3-cell instead of 6-cell), and different operation systems too (linux
main gripe: lappy system is very software sensitive, but i think its because of vista os, i came very close to reformatting the hdd and installing xp pro or linux.

surprisingly, vista is being nice so far, although i still plan on adding ubuntu (linux) to this laptop.
