everything i want is on my main pc and i just pullover the music, photos, etc.

atom processor runs cool, but no speed demon so ok for netbook use, but not so sure any heavy photo work would be good here.

i added a 2gb ram card to it before i even booted it up and it can easily run ms office 2007, photoshop cs and firefox simultaneously.
it would be nice to be able to take and edit pictures/video without messaging software.
the 1002ha has a 1.3 megapixel web camera built in.
webcam, bluetooth and 3 usb, cat-5 ethernet, vga monitor, useful sd card port (great for easy backups and picture downloading)...(no modem)
obviously you can't do photoshop, cad, or 3d modeling with the 1410, but for most usage, it will perform quite well!
now it will not handle video editing but it can handle photoshop reasonably well.
as an amateur photographer this thing is great in the field, runs photoshop cs4 with ease with 4gb ram, and the 250gb hard drive is plenty to back up with while out traveling.
i will use the i7 desktop for video and photo editing.

whne i saw the color of this one ruby red i thought that sounds cool but looked at the pics on amazon and they look purple ish.
one as the asus rep assured me that the 9 cell is non obtrusive and doesn't stick out of the back like other 9 cell batteries do and judging by the picture on the site i bought from it shouldn't.
applications like photoshop run fine and have had no problems running 3d apps.- style: this is just a matter of preference.
orange case is less much less crayon-y than in the pictures.
i was also surprised at the quality of the built-in web camera.
i might buy a cheap netbook for school just because of the size and battery life might be bad in a classroom environment.also, the orange is not as crayon-like as the pics on the site suggest.

i'm please with it but wish for a better web cam cannot get a clear picture comes out fuzzy.
it also has an sd card slot which came in handy when loading my pictures because you dont have to go through the cameras software to get your pictures.
i use it for school and pictrure and video editing and i have no problems so far

i am glad that the netbook comes with memory card ports so that i don't have to worry about carrying camera cords with me when i'd like to transfer photos.
the vga out gives a fantastic picture during presentations and on my 22" monitor!
so far, i've installed all the programs i have on my desktop, downloaded loads of albums (and running them through the last.fm player), and already are editing photos on adobe photoshop.
if you add anything else (like mp3s, photos, etc) store them on the d drive otherwise (like me) you will get a memory error.
also (and my wife had fun laughing at me for this one), i document the entire repackaging process with my digital camera so that i have additional proof that i sent everything back.
gobs of memory for her to put all her pictures on it.
my machine is super fast now and i am using it heavily for my photo editing work.
i am a amateur photogrpher and i already have a bunch of photos stored on it, the space on this is great!
the picture is awesome - very clear and bright.
the picture was a little glitchy which might be from my isp.

if you want to do a lot of heavy photo-editing, video-editing, gaming, or anything high powered the 512mb won't be able to keep up and the os will only give problems.
i have more usb ports than a macbook, and my friends with macbooks have now lost that smug smile as they try to tell me the isight camera is worth the extra money compared to the pc laptops.
most of us only really use our computers for photos, mp3s, web and word processing and this little computer is more than enough to handle it all and a bit more.
the screen has a great display and pictures are dsplayed with very high quality.it worked great right out of the box.
it is ok for surfing the web, looking at pictures, reading emails, or updating files for my business.
naturally it's not as fast as my desktop and bigger laptops but i was impressed when i was able to run a trial version of adobe photoshop elements 7.
camera works great with skype.
although it installed ok, when i tried to launch it i got an incompatibility message and it corrupted my photoshop cs color profiles which required reinstallation of photoshop.
most importantly for web development work running drupal and an apache development server on the machine, along with big programs like dreamweaver and photoshop - all running pretty much at once.
the picture is crystal clear, however the screen is very reflective.
the camera works great.

the fact is it is only a .3mp camera.
i just bought an portable external hard drive to store my music, photos, and video i use with it.
i keep a 500g wd in the backpack(also available at best buy) i carry 350 movies and 100g of music and all my pictures and can hardly even notice im carrying a full multimedia center around with me.
i did get this for my mom's birthday though, and all she really does is surf the web and load photos.

i've had years of experience with sub-notebooks (like the sony vaio picturebooks) so i was expecting the hefty price.
160gb is just too small imho for today's use, especially a pc with this power if you want to store your music, photos, movies, games, etc on it.

i saw an acer with a 6 cell battery for sale on amazon and in the photo the battery stuck out,not like the 3 cell it was compared to wich the battery was not seen and it had perfectly flushed sides.
this works great and with a sd card reader and loads of usb ports i can put all my pics and music on it.
i have typed a couple of documents that i needed quickly (inserted pic, copy and paste from excel, etc.) on this computer and in a pinch it came through.
the speaker is clear and load enough,keys are nearly full size, vga camera works fine, as light as many of my textbooks, and even forget that it was in my purse when i was carrying it.

i am using photoshop/illustrator on it so every bit of ram counts (and there's enough on it).my only 'issue' is that it heats fast, but as long as it does not go into 'turnme off or i'll turn myself
i searched around for better deals for the same price, and there are none.it runs photoshop perfectly, and having 4 gigs of ram helps me do all the multitasking thati will ever need.

bought this to take on vacation to check email and look at photos and do some editing.
this is an excellent netbook that i would award five stars in a heartbeat, but: the pictures of it are misleading, if not a little deceptive.
for all the application i use such as visual studio, photoshop and the only game i play (tf2 all settings to max) it feels as fast as my q6600 gt8800 desktop.
i'm a big fan of graphs, pie charts and percentages that tell you how much better one thing is from the another however, they don't always paint the whole picture.
other thoughts: i can't seem to find the software for the usb 2.0 camera
pros: great laptop for the money, screen looks really good, performs better than anything else in this price range, good construction, looks better in person than the pictures.
pros: - great gaming laptop for the price- feels solid and sturdy.- played crysis, cod4, fallout 3, wow @ max and it was very smooth, so it's very impressive for a laptop of this price.- not too
