what's great about it:?memory, keyboard (numeric), price what's not so great:?nada "i just purchased one of these based on the reviews that i've read here...if this little computer lives up to my
what's great about it:?quick connection to internet, quick processor what's not so great:?fingerprints on finish, not a good multitasker "this is a great little laptop.
no fancy bells and whistles, but it's lightweight, nicely designed and so far works great.
i'm tempted to pick one up for myself for traveling, dual booting with linux.of course i had to do a deep scrub and removal of all the bloatware trash pc makers put on their machines.
was worried about a small screen, but once you start looking at it you cannot notice it.
cheap, small sentelic touchpad with terrible "click bar".the usual netbook nags still apply: no hd video, cramped screen height.
cant play 720p video due to graphics limitations, but 480p looks perfect.
runs all non-graphic intensive programs.
i mean this little netbook can even handle xp on vmware fusion without a hitch cons: none.
other thoughts: great portable laptop, battery life is great, and overall a great working computer for on the go and lounging around.
some were absolutely terrible, and although this is certainly small, it's to be expected.
trackpad is a bit small, but also its possible to get used to it.
the keyboard is built extremely well, yes it is small but the feel of the keyboard is solid.
i use mine all day in my work van for entertainment and light job duties.
though i had a bad experience i would still reccomend this product, chances of it happening again should be slim.
traveled to europe with the laptop and it performed very well in all airports and hotels while abroad.
what's not so great:?graphics is not so high, 3.5 out of 5.9 "average this laptop is great.
what's great about it:?it is sleek, light for its size, fast and reliable.
what's great about it:?fast booting, great bright screen, very light for the performance, great speakers and keyboard what's not so great:?battery life is...average.
what's great about it:?compact, nice graphics, so light what's not so great:?it is great "i just got this laptop delivered and i can honestly say it is great.
what's great about it:?very fast, light weight, 5 hour of battery life, price what's not so great:?laptop charger gets very hot during charging, loaded os and software consume almost 2 gb memory.
the extended battery sticks out the back a little, but it doesn't drop down below the laptop like the hp extended batteries do which is the primary reason i wouldn't get an hp with the extended
outstanding battery life and speakers; keyboard feels good; doesn't get too hot what's not so great:?no latch; doesn't come with much software "i've had this laptop for a little over a week now.
what's great about it:?lightweight, quiet, sturdy what's not so great:?smudges on the keys "this is my first laptop...bought it on a whim, really.
the only thing i can say i did not like is the numeric keeboard size (smaller that normal) but for the price and alltogether features it is a nice laptop for work, school or home.
the g70-250us laptop is a very capable laptop but with a 17" screen it is not a lightweight.
this laptop stands up to any task and multitasking i throw at it, including photoshop, lightroom, endless tabs in firefox, etc.
i was a little worried about the mouse but it seems to work well.
either way, it will still do the things you need it to do, but it's not for you hardcore peeps!battery life: i feel like the battery could be a little better.
even my spare desktop ati 4850 can't do consistently - pretty amazing feat for a 'budget' gaming laptop.surprisingly slim and relatively light weight for such beefy specs with a solid build quality.
on a 15.4" laptop, this means that the main keyboard is fairly small and shifted to the right of where it would otherwise be.
i'm a little skeptical of this product due to the price.
keyboard a little weird, sometimes feels like it's not attached all the way??
it packs a lot of power inside such a compact model.couple of comments on some cons ive read:-keyb does not seem springy to me.-2 partitions can be easily fixed in vista.
its a good laptop, not as small as a blackberry but it ive you the chance to type with not troubles.
as much as i love my laptop (toshiba satellite p105 a few years old but still plugging away nicely), however, it's not travel friendly.
it is a great little computer.
i love this little laptop.
i'm going to focus this at the buyer who is comparing netbooks with an eye on battery life, mobility, connectivity, and performance, (but isn't that what every netbook user wants?) specifically at
what's great about it:?it has a large display and great graphics what's not so great:?the keys are hard to see unless there is alot of light, take some typeing lessons and you will be fine, lol
what's not so great:?keyboard takes a little getting used to "i have been looking for a laptop for a few months now and i have definately done my research and looked at a lot of laptops, this one
i use this laptop mostly for my music studio software, video editing software and animation / graphics software; so the fact it has 6gb ram and a 500 gb hard drive certainly helps.
what's great about it:?big things come in somewhat small packages what's not so great:?hp makes you create your own install disks (3hr) "i came here as well as other sites and read the reviews
volume control touch pad is sometimes a little flakey but not really a deal breaker overall very happy with this machine - it allows me to run several programs at the same time without things slowing
the little remote needs a completely free path to the receiver which is right beside the the mic and headphone jacks so you have to point right to it when you're close to the laptop...
overall, it is a very nice laptop with reasonable battery life and weight.
the outdoor use of the laptop screen is glare(light reflection make the scree not clearly visible)
my 70 year old eyes don't see so well any more and i have no need to drag this thing on airplanes.the screen display on dvd or fish screen saver is great.i want to reach in, pull out a fish and throw
my plan was to keep my desktop for intense gaming, but use the lighter powered laptop for everything else.
by: drushka location: northern illinois duration of product use: months level of expertise: good title: love my mini date:?january 6, 2009 proslight and easy to travel with.
i carry my mini in a small backpack and it fits great.
little, fast, easy to carry, great for trips, just enough bigger than my smart phone to make things easier.
prosthe mini 9 is lightweight.
proslightweight, compact, lightning fast start up, battery power, virtually silent, and impressive graphics.
the true brite lcd is really nice for movies and graphics, compared to my dell vostro with the matt screen.
i prefer my laptop lids to be a little more upright.
i did however, manage to get a little more out of it by setting the brightness all the way down.
(free shipping and handling makes it even better) cons: none other thoughts: buy a wireless router with your toshiba for mobility around your home.
i absolutely love it, the only problem i have with it is its a little bulky, but its not bad at all.
so while the computer is certainly portable, it sure doesn't fit in your back pocket.
the graphics and sound are impressive for a laptop as well.
only issue with the screen is the high mirror like reflection making this laptop unusable outdoors or in bright light.
it's one of those little things that i always like about hp laptops.- the built in webcam is surprisingly good.
other thoughts: if we are looking for large screen entertainment and stylish laptop rather than a portable one, this is a good option.
i use lightscribe regularly and would miss it if i switched manufacturers.
it also has a handy little remote to run hp's media center.
i use it primarily at home...used it on a plane ride and it was fine carrying in a backpack.
what's great about it:?it's fast and has big storage what's not so great:?not the lightest laptop "this computer is great, it has everything i need!
what's great about it:?moslty everything what's not so great:?the weight...
lightning fast and it is the coolest looking computer there is.
the only complaint (if you would even call it that) would be the way toshiba went about lighting up the base section or keybaord section of the laptop.i think it would have been more usefull too have
its blurry and it doesnt adjust to light correctly.
the mouse buttons are a little stiff, and the web cam isn't to impressive, but it is better than some i've seen.
cd tray is strong enough to support a small mousepad/mouse with light hand-pressure, if you feel comfortable using it that way.
and of course, newegg got it to me like lightning.
every little finger print shows up on the laptop, so no matter how much you clean it, you will never have a clean looking laptop.other than the one minor flaw, which doesn't really matter to me, this
don't see a problem with it but if your use to laptop keyboards, you will have to press harder than you would normally have to on other laptops.i use the machine for school work and graphics.
what's great about it:?everything what's not so great:?weight ""this is my first laptop and i must say that it has been a great addition to my home office.
it performs very well with the resources it has, the price is excellent, and i absolutely love windows vista.the only gripe i have is that every now and then there are very small problems with the
it just seems like i have to hit the keys a little harder but it seems to be getting better.
this sony vaio rocks...with it's lightning speed, amazing sound and visual ecstasy!
photographer's laptop- built in compact flash port, runs adobe lightroom 2 and adobe photoshop cs4 quite quickly, screen makes photos look really good and makes editing easy, included roxio cd/dvd
and it is definitely a beast in weight...
for someone like me who has the desire for a media based laptop and is not concerned with the weight, size or overclocking capability for gaming this is a sweet unit.
it has been very easy to set up wireless networking both at home and on the road at various airports.
its light enough that i don't notice it in my backpack.
some of the qualities i love are the built in keyboard light (excellent while traveling on a plane at night), 2 pcmcia ports, built in bluetooth that works excellently with the wiimote, the laptop
light works flawlessly, lcd is without glare.
keyboard light.
screen, keyboard, touchpad, pretty much everything is done just right on this little battle tank.
it's easy to use, lighter than my old laptop.
another small note is that the color is very different than it looks in the picture it's a lot glossier but also a lot darker, you kinda can't tell it's blue when you are in a room that isn't very
i gave 4 stars for performance only because it has integrated graphics which means if your a gamer it won't be the best choice.
just bought this machine - works well and has good speed but the batteryonly lasts about 1 1/2 hours and a backup is $130 so if you plan to travel, look around...btw - battery life was one of the
i've had it for about 2 weeks, taken it on business trips, lugged it around long distances.
