it is a wonderful laptop, i love hp and i wouldnt get anything different.
and it doesnt get any better than hp.
i have compared it to the dell, toshiba, as well as the hp, and i honestly can not find my compaq lacking in any instance.
its really amazing....i cant live with out this laptop...thanks to compaq and hp....
i was a bit hesitant about the price and hp products but i gotta admit, this is my best computer purchase ever!
honestly the whole laptop has a good solid feel to it, it's not necessarily heavy, but very solid, unlike the hp i originally had...
on extreme i have not had much discomfort, although you will notice it.all in all this has been a better purchase for me than my last laptop [hp hdx]

this computer has run smoothly and alot better than my previous laptop (a hp i had for 3 years).
the touch pad has an interesting feature, tapping on the touch pad is like using the left click of a mouse.
i love this laptop and unlike hp, if the screen ever breaks it will only cost ~$120 in parts rather than $700+ (some of you know what i'm talking about here, i checked with asus before buying).
i have a larger hp laptop that i use to work from home.
sensitve touch pad - didn't have to touch it sometimes to activate it.
i also am astonished at the reviews about the touch pad.
this laptop is not at all noisey compared to my old hp.
the hp has a nice look to it and is not very heavy.
the mouse touch pad looks like it wont wear away like my previous hp laptop.
i also looked at hp3035us, but the battery life difference convinced me.
other thoughts: because the hardware is relatively new, and really only available in this netbook and the early hp minis, linux hardware support isn't quite there.
great touchpad, with multi-touch7.
while some 10" had a full size keyboard that was alright (the hp mini's weren't bad), i still found myself despising their screens (1024x600).
i have an hp laptop that i had been using for travel/portable operations, but this runs rings around it.
second, the touch pad actually works quite well.
touch pad gets in the way when typing some times, this is fixed with the command "syndaemon -d -i .2" which will shut it off when typing and it comes back .2 seconds after you are done.
first of all the keyboard on this is second only to the hp mininote, this keyboard is great, i can type on it full speed no problem.
i have been playing games on it, writing papers, watched streaming video, and every other task that i was able to do on my larger and supposedly more powerful hp.
my old hp was also great, but it would overheat at times like many of the older laptop models do.
thank you hp for making such a wonderful product for your line.
finally hp shifted the audio and mic jacks to the side rather than in the middle front - still in the process of configuring it!
the hp hdx16 is a really great laptop.
- the clear and sharp 16:9 display combined with the dolby surround sound audio w/ the integrated sub-woofer and the little hp remote makes this laptop an ultimate media center platform.

minor gripes: it's all glossy surfaces insideand out so it's a fingerprint magnet the touch pad seems overly touchy and the mouse buttons are simewhat clunky.
"i was eyeing an hp with blu-ray rom drive, it was out of stock.
came time to replace it (still working, but a little dated) i shopped around locally and everyone seemed to say the same thing: sony, toshiba, dell and hp are a class above gateway, acer and compaq.
after months of research, i decided to buy the hp dv6928 laptop because it absolutely had everything i wanted at a very affordable price at cc ($699 after rebates).
i really like this laptop it's my first time buying a laptop and i was very skepticle about hp because i don't know much about there products.i'm very glad i did take the chance becasue this laptop
this is the third hp laptop i've owned and they are strong and can handle travel and wear and tear with no problem.
well, my major gripe is that the left touchpad button (the main one!) does not always seem to work properly.
hp really knows how tomake laptops the right way!
i just can’t wait for windows 7 then i can throw windows 7 ultimate edition on it and get rid of all this bloat ware windows vista has and hp includes and run an os that is much more memory and
prior to that i had used a toshiba laptop and an hp mini netbook.
the wireless is not as good as my bigger hp laptop but seems to work fine at home just a weaker signal in the same distance from the wireless.
i love everything about it except the touch pad, and i hate all touch pads.
-touch pad has same size with some laptops:)
another subtle point is that the samsung has a superior touch pad design.
on the reviews that i've read here...if this little computer lives up to my expectations, i'll be so very grateful!i've had a hp presario laptop for almost 10 years now, and it's served me great.
"wasn't real excited to buy this computer, would have paid considerably more for a tosh or highend hp...but right out of the box i was pleasantly surprised that for a mere 349, this laptop is sweet!
we shall see :( after this experience this morning, i will never buy an hp product again!

"i considered the hp for another fifty bucks, but toshiba always has impressed me with their quality to price ratio.it runs pretty cool as far as i can tell.
i needed more horsepower for processing hd home videos and it works like a champ.i have been using a 6 year old hp zv5000 with p4 3.0ghz that wasn't cutting it with hd video.
my other toshiba (portege 2000) has many miles on the odometer, but still works great.overall, excellent deal, brand new toshiba laptop for a price of used hp.
the case plastics are a bit cheaper-feeling, and the unit is a bit more flexy than the $1,100 hp business laptops at my work.

i put on the same level as a dell vostro or the entry level hp business machines.
i like the keyboard as well as the touchpad and buttons (not overly sensitive like my hp at work).
i have had this for a week but i may return it and exchange for a similar hp modeli'm not really confident abut the quality of this laptop.

time delays, despite all the bad things you read about windows vista.had to cleanup a few pieces of 'junk' software on the machine, but not nearly as much as the hp that my parents bought last month.
my previous laptop was also an hp and it was pretty good.
i would suggest that you buy this laptop around later this year, if it still available, because hp might release newer models that are improved in all areas.
update it so that i wouldnt have any problems with the keyboard or touchpad.
i am a huge fan of hp products, i had the previous version of this laptop and i decided to upgrade it.
what's great about it:?capacitive touch screen, windows 7 capable what's not so great:?hp defective models "i don't know about anyone else, but my issue is that the screen looks like theirs glitter

hp always makes high-quality merchandise, but for this price, you really can't beat it.
an equivalent machine from lenovo, hp or dell would cost twice as much.
