i use an external monitor for many items as screen is too small to use some items like a firewall web console.

i velcro it to an acrylic display stand on my countertop (to keep out of danger of spills, etc.) and it's perfect.
when i use "autopower mode" and unplug the machine at 100% charge i get 6h39m of run time with the wifi off and the screen brightness set to 50%, which is where i leave it.

it is faster, has a roomy touchpad, comfortable keyboard, and a screen resolution suitable for web browsing (most webpages are designed to be functional on a screen 1024 pixels wide.
i read a review that said this model was actually better (904ha 8,9 inch) because it has the wider edge around the screen and the proportions are right for viewing a whole page on the web.
i don't like the glossy plastic finish on other netbooks as it shows every fingerprint, smudge, and scuff.
but once it has that the quality is great, very sharp and very crisp colors.style:fit and finish are very good.
keep in mind, the only problem i had with it at first was the screen brightness, it seemed a little dark.
lastly, i found the led backlight screen to be a delight, as it practically refuses to strain your eyes even after hours of use.works like a charm, and i couldn't be happier with my decision.

there wasn't a display model out and i asked the clerk to check the price and when he told me $599, i said i'd take it.
it does exactly what i wanted it for, and while it wouldn't replace my desktop (screen size mostly) it is my dream laptop.
the color red of the product is not what i expected, i thought was more red and less brown
on the lowest screen brightness and without wifi you could easily achieve 8 hours on it.
i was worried about getting one as i have had a 12" laptop and was not happy with screen size.
i use it with an external dell 19 inch monitor, at 1280x1024 resolution.
i only wish the computer would remember the last setting i left it on since it seems to always default to the brightest setting everytime you turn it on.
hulu and youtube videos play smooth at native resolutions, but if you try to full screen it you will lose the frame rate.
i usually have my brightness set to about 60%.
one of my main concerns regarding this product was the screen size, however now that i have it i find it just perfect!
it's bright, but the up-down viewing angle is very small.

on 4/28/2009 i came home from work and i went to powerup the system (after having the unit for only 8 days) and the system lights came on and the only thing the screen displayed was a blank white
you can't get too crazy with the applications you use (large spreadsheets, photoshop, etc.) because of the screen size, but that is not what it is meant for anyway.
i did think there might be a few issues with the screen resolution (1024x600) but you can kick it up to 1024x768 if you need to as some applications won't run on a lower screen res.
i like the fact that the display is 10" and it comes with the 160 gig hard drive.
the display is crisp and bright.
i can't believe even with the lcd brightness down and power saving mode will you be able to get that kind of longevity.
as a developer, i normally have more than one instance of visual studio, sql server, and image editing software (photoshop) open at the same time, and this laptop handled it great.

i see that a lot of people complain about screen size, battery power etc but you have to remember that this is a netbook not a proper laptop or pc so it does just what it was designed to do.
it seems to have a very solid build, strong screen hinge, and a beautiful (glossy) high contrast screen.
this computer looks very attractive in white (that's the one that i have), and i have seen it in other colors which also look nice.
works great with my usb dvd drive, booted from a cd & made a ghost image of it first thing.
also, it's color and material give it a sophisticated finish look.
i wasn't sure i'd be able to run many programs at the same time, wasn't sure how well it would support things like downloading music or image editing, etc.
purchased for my 10 year old so she could write her reports and use the internet which it is great for; however, short battery time and some internet sites require more than the 1200x600 resolution
fyi....if you are trying to load a program and it gives you an error about the screen resolution....you can trick it by connecting a monitor to the output of the msi.
works great cons: the lcd panel is a little heavy, so it tends to move more than the typical lcd screen.
