This is an amazing deal, and while I could have gotten a similar deal at other places I decided to give NewEgg a try because they have an extended warranty (which would have been helpful with my last laptop). from Newegg.com Pros: I bought this for gaming and school work. Very Fast. from Newegg.com Pros: + P8700 processor+ Decent graphics card handles most games with ease (although I only got 8077 on the default 3DMark06 test)+ Nice 15.4" LCD (much better than the lower resolution 15.6" found on the other G50-series)+ Strong WI-FI capability+ Bluetooth+ VGA and HDMI output+ Express Gate (web browsing, photo and music management, Skype) (Note: Using this should give you more battery life)+ Nice sound when couple with good speakers or headphones + Asus Recovery Disk for Vista (64-bit)+ Built-in, on the fly overclock capability(not a real big gain though)+ No bloatware+ Great external connection options (4 x USB 2.0, 1 x E-SATA, 1 x IEEE 1394)+ Card reader included+ Nice, global Asus warranty Cons: - Really poor battery life (A 9-cell option (M50/G50) will set you back ~$140-$150)- Really weak built-in speakers (My old Dell 8600 from 2003 has better quality sound) - Webcam not Skype compliant (you'll have to go Logitech for any Skype video chat function) Other Thoughts: While I saw G50VT-X1 at a large retail store for less, their warranty and the notebook's capability is less too.
