I've only had this notebook for 2 months but I love it more every day. It's about my 20th laptop/notebook, and I still currently own & use five others. from Amazon.com I know the fan can run faster, as it did when I did a BIOS update. However, for some reason, the fan speed never increases, regardless of how hot the computer gets.
