NONE of the video card's dedicated memory is integrated...a true 512 MB DX10 vid card, with 4 gig system RAM!)I've built my own desktops and upgrade computers usually every 12-16 months, as I'm a heavy gamer. I have a $2,500 "gaming" laptop that is a beast to take on trips, so I wanted something that was smaller, lighter, cheaper, but also could realistically play today's games (like the upcoming WaR online). Gateway really has turned it up a notch, offering GREAT desktop/laptops with VERY good performing components for amazing prices, and this laptop does not disappoint. My desktop and main gaming machine has a 3D mark 06 score of somewhere around the 11-12,000 range, and we tested this laptop against that very good gaming PC, that runs games like AoC, Warhammer Online Beta, etc without missing a beat.

Received the laptop after waiting a week with no computer to do school assignments. Its a visually appealing laptop, I liked the blue color a lot. After turning it on, it failed to boot up due to 'CPU FAN ERROR'Immediately I called Gateway to see ifI could fix it somehow myself. I encountered one of the most condescending , rude, and arrogant customer service people I have ever talked to in my life.

In the past have never been a fan of Gateway computers, but mainly because I always felt they were overpriced. When I seen this item, I felt it was a fair price for what it offered and the other 7 reviews before mine were all positive.

I just bought this laptop and they keyboard is malfunctioning. When certain letters are pressed, it adds additional letters. This seems to be a problem with Gateway laptops and I have not been able to figure out a solution. I have to use an external keyboard in order to use it at all.

Two weeks ago, it just shut down for unknown reason and does not turn on anymore so I decided to buy another laptop. I decided to try cheaper ones. I got this 'gateway laptop' simultaneously with the 'toshiba' brand for experience. I used both of them for a week and I like them both.

What's great about it:?Cheap!! What's not so great:?Gets very hot and has a very bad battery life "This notebook is amazing for its price, although the notebook gets extremely hot quickly a cooling pad will solve that issue. In addition the battery life is pretty bad, but as long as u have an extra battery you and turn down the settings you should be ok.
