this is my second toshiba satellite and i only replaced the first one because it is getting wayyyy out of date, never had one problem with it.

first thing you should do when turn on the laptop, make recovery discs and driver disc using toshiba preinstalled software, just open the program and it will inform you pop blank dvds in.
