the bottom line: i am a big fan of gadgets, but not this one.
within a city you will hardly find a spot dark enough to fully appreciate the scope, but in the country side at night this thing is incredible.
i have been using this scope on the beach at night to monitor sea turtle nesting.
personally i think this night vision scope performs great.
nice scope, feels hefty and appears to be well made.
you can read other reviews that describe the capabilities of this scope.
this is a first-generation nightscope, and has a very small range of utility: if there is a little light, the adapted human eye sees better, and if there is almost no light the device does not see
the field of vision is too small for any useful viewing.
remove the gear from my eye and i can see little to nothing.
this is another good scope by a well known brand - night owl, and should work well for most.
it is a good night vision scope.
there was one a little cheaper but it did not have the rubberized coating or the light protection this one has.
i can see person size objects across open areas that i cannot see with the naked eye.
field of vision is a little fuzzy around the edges, but the infrared feature works great in complete darkness and if there's a little bit of ambient light, you don't even need the infrared.
sure enough there seemed to be many makes and models out there that would've fit the night vision bill - the camping trip, checking out wildlife at night up at the cabin, perhaps a little
it's a nice little product and works very well.
there is some distortion on the perimeter of your viewing, but small price to pay for price/performace of this product.
i have only one complaint the weight, it's a little heavy, but well built.
while i do love this unit after having it a month i find that it is a heavy item and also large, no not so large or heavy that it's a problem, i guess i just thought it would be a bit smaller and
i purchased this item because i was curious about night vision scopes and wanted to have a basic model.
from the little use i put it through, it worked well.
there was a little bit of light coming threw the door cracks.
even the smallest stars that are in clumps are spread out enough to see the whole circumfrence!
if you really are going to invest in a night vision scope, you may as well go with a more expensive model.
