Before purchasing my first electronic weapon sight I had the great fortune of being able to compare side-by-side the EOTech 550 with an Aimpoint Comp M2 and a Zeiss Z-point.
I bought those EO Tech Holographic Diffraction Sight Model M550 Military Mfg no.: 552.
too bad i never see this big of deer during the day, but i sure did like seeing it at night.
good prise for these product , strong range clear view , light wight , qualty product ,
excellent long range night vision viewing.
for dark or shadowed areas the ir illuminator lights it up like a floodlight (only out to about 50 yards though).
the clarity of vision greatly exceeded my expectations both with and without the use of the built in ir illuminator.
it's a nice little product and works very well.
since then i have used it to help catch a runaway pet as it works quite well at night and the ir illuminator lights up animal eyes making them easier to see.
there is some distortion on the perimeter of your viewing, but small price to pay for price/performace of this product.
when the ir illuminator is turned on it is very bright within about 30 yards but beyond that is not useful.
i have only one complaint the weight, it's a little heavy, but well built.

this device is excellent- almost four stars- but if you are going to spend the money, you may as well do it right.
I have been researching night vision for some time.
boom mic worked wonderfully as well as the illuminator.
pros: compact, easy to use, decent performance, tripod mount.
i did not want some cheep little $100 piece of
your optomal viewing is only going to be
Pros: The IR light works great in absolute darkness.
the bushnell goggles when used with combination headgear, can feel very bulky and uncomfortable in the prone upright position, but as soon as you push the button to unlock the twisting mechisism the
with its limited range and ok night vision the bushnell goggles is not too bad, alothough the bulit in bright light circuit can be a bit at times over sensitive.
first off: i haven't used alot of nv devices to compare against, so i can't give five stars (but most were much less usefull or even not quite as powerful than my own plain night-adgusted eyes due to
audio amplification: i was surprised at how little this helped.
