Pros: Solid metal construction, compact size. Cons: So so performance. from Newegg.com Pros: Bought these to minimize bottle-necks on our network. We were using one 24 port switch at the far end of our building which seemed to create waves of 'slowness' at peak hours. After splitting the 24 ports to 3 of these 8 port units (with 3 GigE feeds) our throughput has increased and 'slowness' decreased. from Newegg.com TRENDnet TEG-S80TXE 8-Port 10/100/1000 Mbps Copper Gigabit Switch We just installed our second TRENDnet 10/100/1000 switch. from Amazon.com Pros: This did very well in adapting to the wiring in an old office this was put in. Some were CAT-6 lines and some were older CAT-5 (not enhanced) lines. This automatically set the CAT-5 lines to 100mb/s and the CAT-6 got the full gigabit. from Newegg.com This is a great switch that runs cheaper than Netgear, looks better, and performs just as well. Seeing an average of 250MB/s between my PC's and my Mini-ITX based WHS server(a EPIA-M with a ENCORE ENLGA-1320 100/1000 PCI card).
