I have had this switch for over a month now and since installing it I haven't given it another thought. Obviously it works exactly as advertised and provides gigabit connectivity to all capable devices. Having owned and worked with numerous switches this one does a few things better than most: from Amazon.com I was interested in replacing an old hub that I'd used for years. This switch works great and has the gigabit ethernet making my file transfers faster. Now I don't have any problems watching movies from my nas in the other room! from Amazon.com Works well on my small gigabit network at home. I haven't had any problems with communication or having it not run at gigabit speeds (even if I have a 10/100 device hooked up to it). from Amazon.com My existing router is a D-Link already, so I wanted a companion since it has given excellent service. The main concern was that the DGS-2205 would be installed with no problems. from Amazon.com This thing is an excellent little switch and without a doubt the best bang for your buck for a Gigabit capable switch. I paired this up to a Linksys Wireless N Gaming adapter and now my entire entertainment system benefits from highspeed connectivity. from Amazon.com Any of the 5 ports can act as a Wan port so you do not need to be concerned with which port to plug the internet/router wire. I like the dual lighting system to identify which ports are working at 1000 mbps and which ones are working at 100 mbps. There is no noise and the switch is not hot to the touch like older previous gigabit switches were. Transfer rates seem to be double what I got on FastEthernet. from Amazon.com I bought the product to help extend my wired network, as Apple's Airport Extreme only has three ethernet ports on the back. They are great. from Amazon.com Pros: Unbelieveable difference. I got this to transfer up to 16GB of photos from my laptop to main computer/server at a time. Previously, I was connecting my laptop to my WRT54G 10/100 router via ethernet cable to get the "best possible" speed as opposed to wireless, and it would top out around 13 mb/s. With this setup, it gets up to about 140 mb/s. from Newegg.com
