I run Windows Vista, Windows XP, and Windows 7 (RC) machines in my environment. from Amazon.com Also, when using the Web Admin menu, the peformance is very sluggish. This means that the photo and MP3 sharing website built-in is also slow and not enjoyable to use to share your files with friends and family. However, if you need fault tolerant (redundant), or large capacity storage without an always-on server and speed is not a factor this is an affordable choice. from Amazon.com I have not set up the web access, and because I have mp3s on there, am not sure I'm going to. I also have not tried the back up feature yet. The Linkstation appears to have backup application, so I'm not sure why the unit was sent with trial software install of backup software that goes on a computer. I needed more space and thought I got a great price on this device. Well, after installing it and trying to connect it to my network I discoved one little itty bitty problem (okay, so I'm being sarcastic) - the software that is supposed to be installed DOES NOT SHOW UP on my Windows Vista Machine. No big deal, right? from Amazon.com I bought this after my usual long period of research. The LinkStation Pro is at the right price point for extending my disk space at home.
