I have a Slingbox SOLO and a SlingCather. Unfortunately, SlingMedia devices (Such as Sling Media SlingCatcher SC100-100 Universal Media Player for TV or Sling Media Slingbox SOLO (SB260-100) ) must be plugged directly into an internet source. from Amazon.com JUST MAYBE, it could be something in the power line. I had high hopes for this product but found that not only did it reduce my speed from 3k kbps to 1.5-2k kbps when it actually worked but as soon as my wife got on the treadmill it would cut out completely. If my wife was running, the sling wouldn't work at all. First time a Sling product disappoints me, I'd try something else if I where you. from Newegg.com The good thing about this bridge, as opposed to extending your network with another router is that it connects / maintains the same DNS. Most of my comuters are on the primary DNS and I was frustrated when I had to use a second router, not letting me share files between them. This solved my share problems and has encouraged me to start streaming my PC media into my living room. from Amazon.com While this thing IS able to create a connection across multiple circuits in our house, the connection thus gained is horribly unreliable, not at all suitable for slingbox streaming, as it randomly flutters from 100kbps to a max of around 3500 (in VERY short-lived bursts every once in a while). I drilled a hole to the basement and ran a 200ft shielded ethernet cable (wasted a lot of money on that, b/c about 125ft are coiled up in the basement :P) to replace these, which gives me a solid 8000kbps, and thus is a superior option. from Amazon.com Great product from Sling Media and a great price on Amazon. I am very pleased in general with Sling Media products. from Amazon.com I really don't want to give a particularly bad review for this product because it worked well at my friends house where we tested it after it didn't work at my house. The problem for us was that we have direct runs from three rooms in our house since we knew these rooms would have more electronic equipment. (A direct run is basically just a separate electrical system in a particular room directly connected to the street service.) This is not the fault of the SlingMedia, it is the way our house was constructed. But it wouldn't surprise me if lots of custom houses are built this way in this day and age where we use so much electronic equipment. from Amazon.com Installation was flawless and took five minutes at the most.
