I have a 7in. Asus Laptop and I thought the D-Link CardBus Adapter, 32 bit would work with this laptop. Either I don't know how to connect it or it doesn't work with my computer. from Amazon.com Finally, I was advised to get a PCMCIA network adapter or send my motherboard for a check up! I obvioulsy chose the former. After a couple of days of searching and reading on the net, I decided on this 32bit D-Link adapter, and my life has become a whole lot better. The installation of the card took 2 minutes, and the hardware was recognized immediately thereafter (by my Windows XP OS). from Amazon.com The D-Link CardBus Adapter is extremely easy to use and a great solution for people, like me, who lack the right port for an internet cable on their laptops! from Amazon.com Comments: I'm using Debian and I got it up and running in 5 minutes. Added it's driver to my kernel, rebooted to the new kernel, and started using it as a perfect replacement for an old D-Link card that lasted for 4 years. I usually look to D-Link for 1st. choice products. from Newegg.com To address this, I did the following: 1) re-installed the driver (1.1.3); 2) re-installed OSX 10.2.8; 3) re-installed OSX 10.2.8 without preserving user or internet settings; 4) erased my MacOSX partition and re-installed everything from scratch. Still, I get kernel panics within 10 minutes of going online at 100M, and at no other time (even with the card used for 10M dsl; even when card is plugged in but not attached). Note: user reviews of d-link's USB wi-fi dongle for MacOSX record a similar problem.

Until this problem is corrected, I strongly recommend against use of this card for MacOSX 10.2.8 installations.

from Amazon.com My only complaints are that the card sticks out of the PCMCIA slot about an inch and that if you remove the card and reinsert it the card needs to reinstall (a simple process). I bought this card as a cheap test to see if I could set up a simple network before trying to tackle a wireless network.
