all in all it is much quieter than my other projector.
the distance i'd have to put the projector away from the wall to achieve the size i'd prefer is impossible, but i guess we'd all like bigger screens :-p other thoughts: great projector if you
between the sound system that i purchased, and this projector, i only spent $1175, which is cheaper than almost all lcd or plasma displays that you'll find today for anywhere close to the size
i use a ps3 for the blue ray and playing madden and what can i tell you but all my guests are impressed with how much i spent on it!
i only really see it if i dart my eyes back and forth quickly, but during normal viewing i don't notice it at all.
after hours of research and reading all the positive reviews on this projector we decided to buy it and what a great buy it has been.
this unit is compact (only 1/4 size of my previous projector), and allows for smaller venues and a variety of lighting challenges without any problems.
i use it in my classroom all the time.
i've tried turning off the 'automatic input search' option, but itstill tries all the inputs when i turn it on.
the remote controls all mouse functions, it has a built in speaker, and comes with a carrying case.
there is an intuitive lens alignment lever that allows you a great deal of placement flexibility, and enough zoom to allow you to fit the image to your screen easily.
from where i am sitting it isn't noticeable at all.if my room gets hot the projector gets loud.
as with all home theater projectors you do need to control the room lighting for the best viewing experience, but i would not hesitate to highly suggest the benq w500 make your short list when in the
i have watched tv, played xbox 360 and surfed the web on this machine and it is all astounding.
i used hdmi cable to wire because it allows long cable run about 50+ ft without amplifier.
than our previous projector, but doesn't have that disturbing "optical flickr", it works perfectly with the xbox 360 - 2 hdmi inputs plus extras - we have 3 devices connected to it at all times.
this projector has some great features not found on all projectors in it's class.
all i can say about this latest version is that it is indeed an improvement in every sense, at about 60% of the price i paid for the old one.
it is the only "tv" in the house and we watch movies/tv constantly (1598 hours in about a year, that says it all right there)
it's fine to me, and that's all that mattered to me!
all that i want to do is decimate legions of zombies in dead rising in a movie-size format ;) i noticed that this one doesn't have component video or hdmi, so how do you hook it up to your 360?
it arrived the other day and i can't complain at all...
tiger shipped this to me in no time at all, in great shape, no complaints whatsoever.
very nice projector, with all the basics needed for most any presentation.
i heard it was noisy, but i can barely hear it - not at all with 5.1 on.
went out to best buy the following weekend to buy a cheap rca dvd up converter for $30 and now run all my dvds through it.
looking for a projector that would be able to play nice with my mac via a digital connection, do hd, be able to hook up an hdmi source, as well as an sd source and haven't been disappointed at all!
the resolution is what you would expect, not hd at all but it works just fine for the sort of viewing i do (caveat - i don't own a television so in order to watch a movie or use a gaming console i
with samsung i don't have to worry about bulbs at all, and it's half the other projectors weight and it's also quieter.
the only drawback is 800 x 600 resolution is all it will do.
the thing i love about it is that it's on full brightness all the time!
the light bulb if you watch a 2 hour movie everyday will last you about 30 years compared to 2 to 3 years on almost all projectors out there its very impressive (especially that the bulb can cost
it allows me to packit away in just minutes.
it powers up quickly, is bright enough for all to see, and doesn't require that i replace the bulb each year.
this projector was really all i needed and the price through amazon was the best i could find.
-all in all, this is probably the best value on the projector market right now.
the projector has all sorts of video inputs (vga, s-video, composite), so i use this projector for everything.
it doesnt have all the bells and whistles its higher priced brothers do, but who cares !
it has all basic inputs you need to connect any pc/laptop/cable.
i can keep all my lights on and the students can still see everything.
has good selection of video input ports (svid, serial, video in) that allows convenient combinations (refer pt 2)
i found this projector to be excellent in all areas, however i found that i had to move the mount about 5-6 feet closer to my screen to make it work, which was not easy as the wiring is all in the
the default zoom/focus levels made the picture extremely blurry, so i could not read the menu at all.
all in all, when the picture is over 100", not really sure what more you could ask for.
we will not be watching blu-ray movies all the time and this was an important factor for me.
after reading all the nitpicking and complaining about black levels, placement, limited zoom, brightness etc etc on the net, i was resigned to accepting this as an entry level, low priced projector
i am not an expert but i was set on buying the hd70 based on all the rave reviews and then read that optoma had superseded it with the hd65 (1600 lumens) and the hd71 (2400 lumens) and the hd70 was
spend much time researching projector purchase and i agree with all the five star ratings this projetor has received throughout the world.
it really doesn't bother me all that much though.
i'm amazed by how well it scales different inputs and makes them all look good.
easy to set up, easy to use, and best of all it is incredibly small and light.
if you have several things to hook up to it, you may have problems getting them all hooked up at the same time.
it appears that the only way to get the picture back is to unplug and s tart all over.
maybe all projectors have gotten better in the last three years, but this version is much better than what i paid nearly twice as much to get back then.
great image quality, low power consumption, easy to use and the remote control has all the options i want.
i've looked for one all around before i bought it.
all in all a good buy
needless to say, i was amazed when i saw the picture quality, ease of use and, most of all, the price!!
all-in-all a good purchase, especially for the price.
though there are not many reviews of this projector and some of them are somewhat negative, i have not been at all disappointed.
i've used it for powerpoint presentations, to show short media clips, for pdf presentations and it worked wonderfully for all.
a few things i like about this projector are all the connections.
the epson preforms all my requirements very nicely.
all in all, i was worried about the purchase of this unit because of not finding much for reviews, but do not be afraid.
it came in the mail and all is well.
infocus is the original "projector" which all other companies copy.
this would allow you the flexibility of moving the projector anywhere within a 150' radius from your video source, without having to rewire.
all in all i'm pleased with the purchase.
all in all it is good and i like it so far.mainly use it for the kids to project their movies on the wall
advantage is we can run the show anywhere without any complexity since it comes with the built-in dvd player, the player plays all dvds without any problem.
great deal, good projector, and all feature are nice!
our great room is a large open area with large windows all around so family movie time usually begins at sun down.
all in all i couldnt be happier.
this is true in all single chip dlp devices.
cons: almost disposable because of the cost of bulb replacementlow resolution, but not a con for all and it is good enough for my use.
pros: good product, easy installation, no drivers required, works with windows7 and all previous versions, 800 x 600 but you can optimize the composite video signal, it looks great in a bright
i especially like all the connections and the built-in speakers.
so, before i went through all of the hassle of wiring the whole room and then not being happy with the projector, i decided to do a test.
the controller is better for sure and mounted in the same spot as my mitsu the screen is a foot wider and taller on all sides (i think i have a 10ft wide screen now which is awesome).
the fan is very quiet, you can't even hear it unless you have no sound at all in your home.
it has numerous connections allowing multiple inputs without spending time switching between them all.
high- def will blow you away.great price for all the features you will really need.
additional thoughtsi bought a rgb switch box and have all my hd rgb plugs going to it, then the rgb to vga cable going to the projector from the switch box, works great.
it is a great all-around projector that comes with a good, comfortable compact carrying case.
it displays fine on all other monitors, but maybe the projector works different.
i honestly don't hear it at all and the projector sits about 5' directly above my normal viewing position (but then i may play movies and games louder than most, no neighbors nearby and no kids yet).
other thoughts: a little short on red, needs a tiny boost in the settings (r=102/g=100/b=100), i'm projecting about 75-80" size on a wall and it looks amazing from all angles.
i did not have to deviate from the preset settings much at all.
plus, in the low lamp mode (which is really bright enough for home theater viewing) will allow the lamp to last 3000 hours!
