the projector and the cables cames in the box and i will have to buy a case to make it really "portable".
i use its original carton as a carrying case, which means that i can carry everything (laptop, projector, tripod, and portable screen) in one trip from the car.
i love the portability and how cool it stays and i love the on/off response time.
i was thinking about buying 52 inch lcd tv soon to my living room but i've changed my mind, what for paying over 4 time as much money and have 52 inches heavy, non portable screen when i have 80
i bought this as i often give presentations to small groups and wanted a "portable tv" when traveling.

other thoughts: the massive picture, incredible clarity, nice color reproduction, and extreme portability (very lightweight, could be carried in a backpack) make this a must have alternative to the

if, however, all you need is a portable tv screen this projector will likely do the trick.

i got it with the recommended portable screen, and find that it's not always easy to get the right distance to the screen.
i almost bought a smaller lighter weight model, since i will be mobile in my work; but this projector is much better quality than any other light weight device.
if it isn't mounted, it could act as a semi-portable tv in your home - we hook it up to our macbook pro's at night to watch dvd's and streaming tv from our slingbox.
i paired mine with the duet portable projector screen, and i am fully satisfied with the resulting image, with its visibility and crispness and size (80-inch diagonal).
it was the cheapest and most portable that i found.
i had previously tried a 3m mpro110 pico projector which was not really usable even for my meager needs and then a fabulous toshiba tdp-sp1u dlp mobile projector but it lacked the digital input

i hooked it up to my daughter's portable dvd player and bought a pair of good speakers .
however, i wasn't prepared for all the new advances in portable digital projection technology.....at least not for under $600.
