another downside was that i was hoping that it would have an hdmi input as the sony dvd had a hdmi output, so you are on the second step of picture quality!overall, a good experience.

this is standard dvd resolution so if you intend to watch hdtv broadcasts or hddvd/blueray they will look no better than standard dvds and certainly not 'high definition.' for the image size you get
