i've used it for powerpoint presentations, to show short media clips, for pdf presentations and it worked wonderfully for all.
with the surround sound system hooked up it really felt like we were in a theater watching the show.
so far, we have used it in our living room, showing it on a 4x8 shower board.
in addition, the buttons on top of the machine for the menu, the lamp, and navigating such things as your slide show, are easy to maneuver (unlike some projectors i've used).
i use it for showing dvds of movies for family and friends and it's perfect for that.

i have seen many projectors that projected colors that were nowhere near what was showing on the laptop.
shows a very clear detailed picture on a wall or on a screen.
check out the image cuality with the pics i posted, keep in mind that its being shown on a regular wall.
switching channels or changing input shows a slight glitch tho' not intolerable

i am sure this may be great for .jpg photo shows but dont buy this if you want to do anything with video.
when it comes to movies, i don't really care about resolution, but for me my presentation can't just have pictures, i have to show people numbers and words.
advantage is we can run the show anywhere without any complexity since it comes with the built-in dvd player, the player plays all dvds without any problem.
the picture is a littlebit-mapped (you can see the pixels) when it is paused or showing a still shot, but it is absolutely beautiful when it is showing motion.
it also has a great picture when you feed you television cable box through it - see you favorite shows on the big screen.
