(when i usually watch movies with friends) the picture is just perfect.as mentioned by others, you'll want to focus the picture and then adjust it slightly back out of focus to eliminate the pixels.

i have never seen a fixed-pixel projector that can compete with crt on black levels and shadow detail, but as crts are basically no longer produced i had little choice.
