the only draw back is that i can only watch it at dusk/night.
it is of course even better at night, but that goes for saying.
at night, (when i usually watch movies with friends) the picture is just perfect.as mentioned by others, you'll want to focus the picture and then adjust it slightly back out of focus to eliminate

the jump from 2000 lumens svga to this 2500 lumens xga is night and day.

if it isn't mounted, it could act as a semi-portable tv in your home - we hook it up to our macbook pro's at night to watch dvd's and streaming tv from our slingbox.

other thoughts: i mainly watch at night in a very dark room and i get the theatre quality that i was looking for i just got my rebate check from benq and that was a fast turn around also.
if you want it to mostly watch movies at night or have a room you can completely darken (mine is in the garage so i have excellent lighting control).

it's not bright in the day light, but indoors or at night it's very visible.
sure, i am a gadget fiend and snapped this up, thinking it would be great to watch a movie or two during long winter nights.
