i recommend buying a sound system to compliment the speakers to improve the theatre feel, but you cannot beat the price for what you are getting from this product.
summary: the best part about dv11 is the built in dvd player and the adequate speakers which is very important that we can use the projector in more than one place.
it has amazing picture quality and when fed through your home theater speaker unit, it gives you an incredible movie experience.
built in dvd function and speakers are incredible!
also the speakers on the unit are good quality and more than adequate for viewing a dvd with the built-in player.
it has built in speakers with wonderful quality and trust me loud enough.
the built in speakers are nice for when i don't want to power up the stereo to use it for the wii.
having a portable speaker would greatly help.
don't utilize the speakers.
my only criticism of it is that the speaker that comes with it internally is not sufficient to provide audio to a room.
i hooked it up to my daughter's portable dvd player and bought a pair of good speakers .
know your limitations: 4:3 ratio, positioning, cabling connections, external speakers...
we hooked up some speakers and a sub-woofer and are now debating not even bringing it to schools (hey kids, let's do overheads!) i had been nervous that there were other "more hi-tech" versions
you will need an external sound system, though the projector does have a little built in speaker.
only cons so far are the lack of speakers (i'm having a hard time figuring out what speakers/connections to use for sound) and not knowing how to get my xbox to play on it.
only thing is it does not have built in speakers.
between this projector, some cheap computer speakers, and a laptop, i have a home theater.
no speakers ( but does anyone use internal speakers anymore ?
i hooked up two stereo speakers to my satellite control and have great sound.
some people prefer a rosy tinted picture just as some people liked hifi speakers with a mid range bump.
you need some kind of external speakers.
i bought a 92 inch screen and a yamaha receiver and 7.1 surround infinity speakers, and wow what a great show.
cons: lol...read the fine print i got this projector and it doesn't have a way to put speakers in it.
product features list a built in speaker but the user manual does not mention it and there appears to be no audio connector.
no speakers
so far, i have tested everything but the hdmi (the cable should be shipping soon) and the speakers (i've hooked it up to my surround sound system), and everything works as advertised.
one of my favorite features are the speakers.
set up was easy, the remote is intuitive and the built in speaker is even usable-not theater quality of course but functional.
the built-in speaker is useless, due to very poor sound quality, so i bought an altec lansing orbit speaker (which sounds unbelievably awesome for its size) and a y-cable that i hook straight to the
others i considered didn't have speakers.
the speaker is sufficient, but weak.
the people who experience problems or only hear sound from the front of the speaker either have the wrong room type or did not set up the speaker correctly.
we have a big room so the big yamaha with 40 speakers and 2 woofers was the solution.
however given my displeasure at looking at my old setup (5.1, sub, speaker stands, wires all over)i've got to say i don't mind.
since we were remodeling, my wife finally agreed to a tv in the bedroom but didn't want any wires, amps, speakers, ect.
great 10w audio speakers fill an average sized room with no need for aux speakers.
the inclusion of a built-in speaker as well as output to external speakers is a great convenience.
i especially like all the connections and the built-in speakers.
the projector has a built in speaker which some complain about but i think its a good option and if you have a muddy surround sound like me it makes the speech in movies a little more audible.
have it connected to an onkyo tx-sr805 receiver and a set of yamaha surround sound speakers.
if you do some research and shop around, this projector, a decent screen, cables, a good receiver and speakers can be had for the same $2500.
i use it with a bose speaker system for audio, the mix is fantastic!.
i haven't yet run sound through the projector, since i have stereo speakers i use for that purpose.
