if you are looking for supercrisp pictures you will need a 1080p model on large screeens.
we've used projectors that cost more than twice the cost of the sharp and so far xr-30x appears to perform just as good.
for 37 years] dang this sharp xr-30x dlp projector i just bought!
first, it's not the absolute greatest dlp projector ever, particularly in the way it doesn't have the sharpness to totally realise its full hd potential.
also, it has 2 hdmi inputs so i use 1 for ps3 (which is the most amazing thing ever) and 1 for cable tv.the picture of this projector is amazig.

the projector throws a nice, bright and sharp image.

picture quality is phenomenal.
un-real picture - watching the olympics was phenomenal i felt like i was in beijing.
i cannot say enough about the picture quality
the picture on this projector is great with the lights fully lit, partially lit and of course the room totally dark.
the case is very slick plastic that attracts fingerprints, but regardless it is very sharp.
it has built in speakers with wonderful quality and trust me loud enough.
the fans run but because it thinks it is overheated, no picture will display.
same thing and quality as in theater.
it's quality is worth your money.
great quality projector.
for the record, this projector has been easy to set up and use, and seems to have very nice quality.
the set largely consisted of slides projected onto a backdrop, and we were worried about having the slides bright and sharp, despite the long throw and the bright stage lights illuminating the actors.
pros: excellent color, and picture.
the picture this projector puts out is insane.
amazing picture quality as expected from panasonic.
the picture on the 2000u is outstanding in comparison to both!
the picture is amazing - i have watched blu-ray & standard dvds and they both look wonderful.
the picture resolution is very good with time warner dvr box using hdmi and fantastic with blu-ray.

prosjust like the picture shows - this thing is really small and visually, very appealing.
prosthis product is truly amazing, i wouldn’t have believed that something so small can produce such a great picture.
dont expect it to be hd or extremely bright or crystal clear picture.
the picture is clear and the sound is quite good for the size it is.
over 100" but of course the bigger it is the dimmer the picture is.

now it is 16' from the screen and it is perfect.very easy toset up,picture can be moved up,down and sideways in seconds.hdmi works perfectly with one wire from our receiver.couldn't be better.
this projector can almost be setup with your eyes closed with a fantastic hd picture (i ma hooked up to my ps3 via hdmi) at 18' distance mounted on the back wall at 10' height, i am getting a 177"

the picture quality is wonderful, the color is vivid and has just a super sharp image.
therefore, i have my picture thrown on an off-white wall painted with flat paint.
crt is a rapidly dying breed and the pix quality has improved with digital pj's they are no longer worth the hassle (imo).
i bought this projector a few weeks back and waited to post a comment to trully confirm the quality of this projector.
i've been impressed with the quality build of the unit as well.
this turned out to be an awesome solution for an entertainment room, hdmi input, it does 1080p, got the 360, ps3, and dvd running through a switch into it and its bright enough that it's looking
i'll re-review the projector when i get a replacement, but an out-of-the-box fan error doesn't speak well for optoma's quality control.
