even with some light in the room.
good with ambient light also.
i have this projector hooked solely to an xbox 360 in a room with absolutely no natural light, that is a dedicated theater room and that's it.
i have it in a dedicated room with no outside light, so the low lumens are no problem.
like majority of projectors out there, light is a projectors enemy, so make the area nice and dark to maximize your viewing pleasure.
it also had good light output and excellent resoulution.
it is lightweight and bright enough for conference rooms.
it has plenty of light output and good resolution for on-screen viewing.
it's extremely light and easy to pack for travel.
pros: lightweight at 3lbs, high brightness, great picture, input compatibility cons: runs hot the bottom line: for the price (with a watchful eye and discounts), i truly must report that this is
the projector can handle some ambient light.
i have it mounted on the ceiling in a light controled room on a 105" 16/9 screen w/1.0 grain.
(our previous tv is a 50" sony rear projection model.) we have a light-controlled environment and are using an elite 106" screen with a 1.0 gain.
its just light years from the washed out colors of 5 years ago.
in a light controlled room that should not be an issue.
it's not bright in the day light, but indoors or at night it's very visible.
the projector light is weak, but keep in mind, this is portable, battery powered projector.
also it says up to 40 or 50" screen but with the lights off i can get it to take up the whole wall.
aaaand it only works at night, when the lights are off...
as far as being in a really dark room, i actually used it with low lighting and it still projected nice and clear.
it's light and compact and doesn't have a fragile feel to it, although i'm sure that care should be exercised, especially in transporting it.
it will probably be cheaper to buy a new unit when it does.it fails outside in any kind of light.
it has a bright picture that is easy to see even when there is light in the room.
cost.another plus is that the bulbs are actually pretty low cost in comparison to other brands, and they will easily last 3000 hours if taken care of properly.my living area has nice light control.
lamp light comes on and reports lamp error.
the projector is much lighter than i could have imagined.
lightwieght, fast turn on and off.
even the lights on in my room, i would give 5 stars excellent for this great projector!
i would recommend this product to anyone with the space and ambient light control.
it is plenty bright for acceptable viewing with subdued lighting, and in a darkened room it is brilliant.
even with only 1000 lumens, i get a great picture, even with a little ambient light.
just hoping we get long life out of the light source.
long bulb life.very lightweight.great as a monitor.
it works fine in a well lit environment, although if you have very detailed graphics or want richly saturated colors you may have to dim the lights.
once we got the hang though it was everything we wanted, small foot print, great image, and light weight.
the brightness is great even with the lights turned on during a presentation.
the projector was easy to use and lightweight to carry.
after a few seconds when it warms up you can easily see the image on a light colored wall or screen easily in the middle of the day.
it's lightweight, comes with an awesome black carry case, and makes your presentation look professional and effortless.
it was also hard to see in a lighted room.
we use it in a semi-dark environment, and even with the ambient light the picture looks great!
it does need a reasonably light controlled room as it is not as bright as an optoma hd71 for example, especially at the "low" lamp setting, but on the other hand the "low" lamp setting is supposed to
if you have reasonable ambient light in room then forget about any night scene.
cons: overheats if above 5000 ft, pictures gets washed out very quickly if there's ambient light in the room
very small and light.
prosthis projector does a great job at throwing a lot of good colors and light on the wall.
it is so great because it works so well in the dark light setting in the basement if you are going to go above 60 and you are going to use it in a dark room is for you .
the room that i have this projector in has lots of ambient light (west facing window) and this projector still does a remarkable job...highly recommended.
the bulb is bright and watching football during the day with some ambient light is ok.
the remote's buttons light up and you can read the thing in the dark, thank you very much for that, optoma.
don't count the new furniture and blackout blinds (yes, i watch this tv with none or little ambient light in the room)...if i don't count those mistakes, then i did all of the avove for about $4900.
room was huge and lots of ambient light and the projector still looked great.
pros excellent color, focus and brightness adapts easily to different video sources dual svga inputs very handy very light weight no cool down period after use cons auto-keystone adjustment
cons: the projector is extremely light, great for traveling.
when i first got it, it would sometimes fail to light up after the last use.
it was nice, but had a dedicated theater room and their lights couldn't come up to show what it was like in normal lighting.
the ansi lumens is 1000, but i haven't had a problem with too much light in the room.
after about 300 hours of operation the bulb doesn't light and you cannot turn it on.
shadows and blacks are only good at zero ambiant light in the room hd quailty is great at 130inches.
