also i'm using panasonic 1080p upconvert dvd recorder and my movies look great, buy a dvi-hdmi cable with a hdmi switcher and you'll be fine, good contrast level at 2200-1 ,lums are 2300 at full mode

the projector has a built in speaker which some complain about but i think its a good option and if you have a muddy surround sound like me it makes the speech in movies a little more audible.
