The only problem is after around 1 hour and 15 minutes, the unit flashes temperature/overheating warnings and shuts down. I live in Colorado at an altitude of around 9400 feet. I read the manual and discovered that Mitsubishi does not suggest using it above 5000 feet. We seem to have over come the problem by installing 2 CPU cooling fans into the air filter shroud. from Amazon.com I have a theater room that is about 25' in depth, I had my old projector mounted about 18 feet back on the ceiling. I bought the HC5500 to replace the older projector which was and is an excellent projector from Panasonic, however I wanted the 1080P res. provided by the newer projectors. from Amazon.com What can I say - the picture is excellent. The Sharp was incredible, and I would never have any complaints until I see in person what the 1080p projectors can do nowadays. It was immediately obvious this Mitsubishi has a sharper, more detailed, and better contrasted image. It has a slightly higher lumens output than the Sharp, and also better contrast. from Amazon.com i found this projector to be excellent in all areas, however i found that i had to move the mount about 5-6 feet closer to my screen to make it work, which was not easy as the wiring is all in the from Amazon.com it makes a little humming noise, but we can get through a movie without it overheating. from Amazon.com the final straw that broke the camel's back was the fact the newer blu-ray movies output 480p through the component video output (the sharp didn't have hdmi). from Amazon.com i palyed blue-ray movie . from Amazon.com we will not be watching blu-ray movies all the time and this was an important factor for me. from Amazon.com i used the quick start guide, hooked up my laptop and usb blue ray drive with a vga cable, dialed in the settings from some expert video guy's review online and entered a state of nirvana. from Amazon.com it's coupled to a new samsung blueray player via hdmi, and it just seems like the refresh on the lcd isn't fast enough. from Amazon.com
