Very happy with the HD65 so far. I had other AV issues but once that was resolved, the picture and ease of use are great. from Amazon.com I did some research on projectors, wanting to stay as much under one thousand that I could. I was ready to buy the Mitsu HD1600 due to the great price, but a friend that is really into these things recommended this HD65 for the extra one hundred forty at the time. I am very pleased with the result. from Amazon.com No surprise there. Even up-scaled DVDs look good. HD content from my DVR & AppleTV is breathtaking. After buying this Optoma HD65 I am not at all second guessing my decision. It spoils you. I rarely watch TV, in fact I have an outboard Samsung HD off-the-air receiver--no cable for me. It has fantastic picture quality, and if you have never owned a projector before, expect to be stunned when you first see it. Obviously, if you don't have a high def source, such as HDTV channels, Xbox 360, PS3, Blu-Ray, or HD-DVD, then you don't really need a high definition projector, but if you don't have one of those things, I can't imagine why you are even lookin at this projector in the first place. When I had my Infocus mounted I had a projected image of just under 12' wide. I have an Xbox 360 with HD-DVD add on drive for games and HD-DVD movies and a Panasonic DMP-BD55 for my Blu Ray movies being fed to my projector. Ok, so I was looking at the 1080p projectors and my father-in-law just recently bought this little tiny projector called an Optoma HD65. from Amazon.com I've had this projector for a little over a month and absolutely love it! I have a fairly large apartment (14' ceilings) so getting a projector was an inevitable purchase for me. After doing some thorough research - because who wants to drop $1K for something that doesn't work - I found that the Optoma HD65 was pretty much the best quality for my budget ($1,000).
