The picture quality is amazing even without a screen--I just project the image onto a white wall in a dark room and get an incredibly clear six foot wide picture. The only drawbacks seem to be the same as those for any projector (some heat and noise, a need for low/no ambient light, and eventual projector bulb death). Optoma also has surprisingly good customer service. Shortly after an OS reinstall on my laptop I was having some trouble getting it to work with the projector, until I emailed Optoma (not expecting much help, more as a preliminary in case I had to return the projector). from Amazon.com it provides are bright, clear dlp image at 1024 x 768 and is very easy to set up or install. from Buy.com picture quality is good, package (including case) is compact and easy to transport. from Buy.com the projector is light for easy movement and the pictures are clear and sharp. from Amazon.com at first i was dubious as to being satisfied with its performance at my presentations seeing there is no audio but i cleared that by using external speakers. from Amazon.com I am so very happy I bought this projector.
