In today’s workplace presentation is everything. And in these tech-oriented times, a paper presentation just won't cut it anymore. A good projector will help your small presentation score big points at your next business meeting.
Currently there are two different types of projectors, using two different technologies. LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) Projectors pass light through glass panels to reflect the picture onto the screen. DLP (Digital Light Processing) Projectors use a proprietary chip that is essentially a reflective surface made up of very tiny mirrors. DLP is generally a higher quality projection picture and consequently is more expensive. But LCD technology continues to improve and can be an inexpensive solution if price is your biggest factor.
For a simple, portable projector for presentations on the road, look for a sturdy, inexpensive model. If you need a top-of-the-line projector for the office, look for high contrast ratio and high resolution picture capability. The newest projectors support HD formats, as well. Most are capable of 480i through 1080i and 1080p. Brighter is better! Brightness ranges from 1800 lumens to 3500 lumens, so look for the best you can get in your price range.
Expanded features ratchet up the price pretty quickly, so consider your purpose. You can use a projector for a lot more than presentations, but if you need something quick and simple, you can find a basic projector at a very reasonable price.
