after sending it in for 6 weeks (poor service is another issue) and having the mother board replaced, we are now told by optoma support that it's an altitude issue and not even the "high altitude"
so now i'm projector-less, waiting to see what optoma's response is, and dreading a rma.
i recently purchased the optoma ep1691 projector, and have been exceptionally pleased with its ease of transportation (it's so small) and its ease of use.
i updated from optoma 739 and i am impressed with this projector.
i've worked with other optoma projectors (specifically there travel line) and i've never gotten close to matching the colors of any presentation as well as i have been able to with this projector.
to summarize - if i had a $3500 or less budget for a home theater projector, and if the optoma hd7100 is compatible with my theater room (placement wise), it would absolutely be my first choice of

the optoma ep716 was only about 80 dollars more and it is new.
by the way, i've used optoma h31 from my friend once, and it was same high quality.
i got the optoma ep716 projector after reading a review in a pc magazine.
optoma ep716 dlp projector strengths: light weight.
pros: good pic cons: bad customer service bought a hd7300 had 3 weeks and quit.to fix or replace you have to send to optoma anytime with in your warrenty.if you want a adavce excharge you have
