i have nearly 70,000 mp3s and it is simply inconvenient and unmanageable to organize those files within itunes, and there are no alternatives (unlike with older ipods).

but personally, i would highly recommend you rip your mp3s from your cds to 192 kbps, which would pretty much give you cd quality.
