it operates flawlessly by itself and with the system in my truck that is set up to use mp3 players.
i use it in a 17-year-old car with a cassette adapter and the original speakers, one of which is blown, so i don't expect that it'll sound as good as my yamaha receiver with cambridge speakers.
the only times i use it is while driving on my car, when we go out or when we travel we are always listening to it, i kept recording cd's to my wife until i got her to accept she wanted one...
i have it in the gym, in my car, and in my ipod player at home.
i have it plugged into my deck in my truck , sony cdgtx920u , thru the usb port in the back , and i can control everything right trhu the deck.

what's not so great:?it can't wash my car:) "originally bought a 30 gb zune which died while still under warranty.
i only use it for mp3 playback in my car.

in the car, it rides in the center console without any fancy rubberized or neoprene cases.

i use this player in my car, and it isn't perfect, but works very well.
i started enjoying pandora and slacker on my logitech squeezebox duet wifi internet radio and logitech squeezebox boom all-in-one wi-fi internet radio, but for the car i was stuck with terrestrial

there's satellite but that's a monthly fee and you're locked into your car or home only.
i have also owned ipods (most recently a touch, which i took back because it broke and wasn't compatible with my car stereo.
i like to listen to music in my car; i was concerned about using a touch screen with no tactile feedback while i drive; in fact, it is easy to change songs without having to take my eyes off the road.

so i will have to invest in a wall outlet charging adapter and probably a car adapter.

i purchased a zune car pack with the fm transmitter, so i put it in our family car, and tried it out, very nice sound, i would need a very big box to hold all the music stored in this little player.
i've been using it at work with the radio, in the car, downloaded audio books for my daughter from the library and we also use the video in the car on trips.
it crashed a couple times, left me frustrated, and was stolen out of my car right before christmas.

i think it's quite nice to hear the car horns from time to time or if you are really lucky hear a bird chirp or whatever.
besides a lot of music, i like a movie or two and some of my tv show episodes on it for car rides, etc.

if i get out of my car, all i have to do is unplug the jack and it stops.
it has replaced cds in my car with its universal audio jack.
the only "problem" is that the radio reception depends a lot of the headphone positioning at times, so it is a bit of a problem when you are driving your car (i do not have stereo) and listening to
battery life is great - i leave it in my truck to grab it whenever i go to the gym every day, and i go a couple weeks without having to charge it at all.
i charged it over two weeks ago and have used it on multiple three hour car rides.
works great, charges and plays through my sony xplode car stereo with usb port.
the bass does not sound over bloated or artificial in any way, just clear, bold bass as it sounds out of a home theatre or car.
i bought the car charger, home charger, and silicon case combo on amazon though, and it's nice as well.

i mostly listen to it thru my car stereo.
i mainly got it for the car; but i did get an arm band case which i think will work great.
