with the right marketing to increase public awareness of this product, yes it definitely can.
i've owned a different mp3 player almost every year since 2002, and i can sincerely say this is the most blown away i've ever been with a mp3 player (or pmp, whatever you want to call it).
the touch screen blows away anything apple has out, it's very responsive.
i hope this brief review made you decide to navigate away from the mind-numbing itouch and all of it's stupid over-rated apps.
and a quick little tip, if you put the zune hd in your pocket face the screen away from your body or it will activate the touch screen causing it to do random things.
ignore it for second and it goes away returning the album art to view.
this is the first apple product i have owned and am blown away by the interface.

now that i have it, i'm suddenly aware that i've in effect purchased an entire apple computer(!) --and for little more than a couple hundred bucks!
overpiced with many strings attached.it takes a while to navigate away from monopolized by apple i-tunes to get much cheapper music.
no more though, the itouch just blows it away for speed and i can retrieve e-mails that i have going to outlook express or whatever else you care to mention.
so, when reading reviews on this device, be aware that a lot of the issues mentioned have been addressed either by firmware or a uci (read claw's wallpaper).
my goal is not to scare you away if you are in the market for a friendly, full-featured pmp.
didn't have much time to try anything else because the next day a flickering line appeared down the center of the screen and would not go away.
but if you plan on getting one download itunes 8 first cause i wanted to plug it in right away and put some music on it but i had to download itunes 8 first.

the price was exceptional and the delivery was speedy and i was able to use the product right away.
they're also very sensitive sometimes (i've only once 'shuffled' away from a song when i dropped the unit into my pocket but quite often i have changed the volume when i wanted to do something else)
it is very ease to use and has some really nice features that i wasn't aware of when i purchased it.
it blows the previous generation nano away, with it's bigger screen and ability to play movies and video for the same price as the old nano.
4) i downloaded and tried out the latest zune software and while it had some good features it wasn't enough to attract me away from the itunes which i'm at least familiar with.
now we are "both" using the ipod, whenever i can get it away from him!

it seemed to me that they moved away from where i found them before.
the small size makes it easy to tuck away out of sight.
not small enough that you can lose it easy but small enough to be tucked away.
-chips: on the back the apple thing fades away which makes it look a bit old.
i thought the "shake to shuffle" idea was pointless, so i turned it off right away.
from 2 hours away, it took 7 business days (not including weekend days) to get here.
if you're into it, and want to take the music with you when you are away from your computer (ever go outside?) then migrate to a portable.
if i am a ways away it reads my network as having low signal even though may laptop per say has no problem.
i took away a star because the battery life was less than advertised and because of the scratching issue.
you can play the music away from the hotspot once you load up.
on my ipaq i simply connect and then drag .mp3s to one of the storage cards (the ipaq has both a sdhc and a cf card!), then wmp finds the music and away i go!
the kicker is, you get to throw away the your buggy install of itunes and use the the new release of zune's desktop client, that, like the device, is both powerful and beautiful.
ive owned samsung, ipod and other smaller brands in the past--and the zune blows them away.
the audio output on both of these blows away anything i've heard on ipods and everything else i've auditioned.
but just buy the little cards and its simpe to put the money to your account and download aways =] but thats one of the one things i dont like is the point part because i can't use my credit care
i also enjoy whiling away the hours playing texas hold-em, which is quite addictive.using the zune software is great too, as syncing whatever you want is a breeze.
now before you go off on me apple fans, please be aware that i have been looking at high capacity mp3 players for the last 4-5 years and the decision between the zune 120gb and ipod 120gb was one of
i don't use the case anymore and i put it away in some box.
- included buds will not be enough for most people (almost not worth mentioning, but just be aware of it)
i came very close to buying the 4 gb for about $52 + shipping on amazon but when checking out, it said expected shipping date was a week away.
this is probably the main thing that turns people away, so be aware of it.
i plugged it in to my pc, and away it went.
i'm three weeks post amazon return/exchange program- and my sansa has stopped working- i liked the product, used it for running about 6 times- but very disappointed to have thrown away $76 on this
if you hear a song on the radio you like and you want to download it right away, u'd have to be bye the computer.
sometimes i don't want to listen to a list, i know a song i want to listen to right away, and it's difficult to navigate.
i don't feel like i will crush it or that i will lose it right away.
i disconnected everything on my computer, loaded it into my car, and drove to his house over an hour away.
a week or so after i got it, the touch pad started pulling away from the face of the ipod.
the device's exterior can also smudge easily, so i recommend buying a case right away for it after you purchase.
i have even started switching the "lock" button to lock, but if your are not careful when putting the zune away, you will lock it in the "on" position & your battery will be drained.
a) make sure you buy a case/screen guard for it right away, i have a leather case, but it does not allow me to sync without removing it first.
