Pros: I got this so I could stop connecting my laptop up to my projector just to watch a show. Argosy Made a really good product here, setup was a cake walk right out of the box. The menu for setup as well as playback is very user friendly. from Newegg.com Could not be happier, I love downloading movies, shows, whatever, and being able to play it on the big screen... I did have an issue in which the unit stopped recognizing any USB device... I contacted Argosy tech support, they issued me an RMA and got it all fixed up for me... So, i give the company another 5 stars... from Newegg.com Pros: Small, well built, well programed, easy to use and setup. This thing is pretty cool! Argosy's tech support makes up for every bad tech support experience I have ever had! shortly after I setup the unit I believed that it was malfunctioning. from Newegg.com Pros: Incredibly tiny and light, multiple outputs (hdmi, component, composite, digital audio), accepts data from external USB hard drives or USB jump drives, great quality picture and sound, inexpensive, amazing. Argosy give you the Inoi media handling without tying you down to an internal hard drive so you can keep growing your collection. It runs a Seagate FreeAgent Go drive without an additional power adapter, just plug to go drive into the USB input and start enjoying media. from Newegg.com This thing is fantastic. I Wanted to be able to watch my video files on my standard TV without using a computer. The Argosy does this very well. It has played every avi file i threw at it. from Newegg.com It does get warm. You do have to go into standby to swap out HD - but the unit starts back up in about 10 sec or less. The instruction manual that comes with it is good, but very generic - it does not even mention the "Argosy" brand. Nor do I see a website for support. from Newegg.com Some videos it can play but cannot fast forward or rewind. Do too many operations at a given time when playing a video, and the device may freeze, requiring a hard reboot. Other Thoughts: I elected to choose this over the other Argosy devices that have built-in HDDs because this device also supported flash drives. As to the HDD, I use a WD Passport 320GB, which only needs to be powered by USB. from Newegg.com (Instant rebates rock!) Cons: No HDMI cable, but it comes with AV cables and component cables which do justice. Other Thoughts: I got this for friends as a gift for ones I knew had an external HD already.
