I've have my 8 GB D2 for quite a few months now. Its mostly been an enjoyable from Amazon.com This is the second Cowon D2 that I have purchased. The first one got "bricked" when a firmware upgrade went wrong. from Amazon.com I have owned a Cowon D2 8gb for some time, for audio books. When this player has version 2.51 of the firmware, it's the best in the business. from Amazon.com This is the best media player I'd ever have, great battery life, the radio is good, pictures, movies, themes, flash, dic, I think all you need in a portable media player, and besides is small. from Amazon.com That feature is the ability to be used in MSC mode rather than in MTP mode. For those not fluent in technospeak, that means that in a Windows based computer, the device will be treated as just another drive by the computer rather than as media transfer point. What that means is you can load your media on to the D2+ or take it off the D2+ via Windows Explorer (or some substitute for it) rather than via Windows Media Player or some similar software. The ability to use Explorer makes the process much faster and simpler. from Amazon.com This product -- overall all a very good one, I might add right away -- has clearly been designed with Windows users in mind, though with some basic consideration for Linux and Mac users, such as yours truly in regards to the latter. Note that some of these things may only apply to those using the D2+ with Mac OS X 10.5. from Amazon.com Pros: This little unit provides the highest quality sound I've heard from any portable. It also has significant capacity between its 16 gig onboard and if you add an sdhc card, it can get to 32 gb or possibly more. It handles flac files. from Newegg.com internal memory. Excellent sound quality! The D2 has a fairly powerful headphone amp which doesnt overload or distort at high volumes or different EQ settings and bass amplification. Of course buy a real set of earbuds or headphones for the best sound quality, as with cheap earbuds, you'll never enjoy the quality of this thing. from Newegg.com Cons: The user interface takes about a day to figure out on this player. The screen is smaller than I anticipated, but I bought this for music mainly. Other Thoughts: I had an iriver HD20 that wouldn't hold a charge much anymore, so I researched and always wanted a Cowon. If the S9 had an expansion slot I would've got the 8 gig. from Newegg.com Pros: - Plug & Play- Excellent battery life. After an 8 hour trip of non-stop playing, the battery indicator still appeared to be full! - Adjustable equalizer/presets, various audio tweaks (BBE, Mach3Bass, 3D Surround, Stereo Enhance, MP Enhance, Play Speed etc...)- Screen is crisp, clear and bright- Touch screen - Sleek, simple black design- Voice/Radio recording capability- Video playback, TV-out- Expandable SD memory slot- Presentable interface- Has an app similar to MS Paint.
