This review covers a device loaded with version 1.06 of the firmware. I bought the 8 GB version back in January. I was debating between this and the Sansa Clip, and boy do I wish I'd gone with the Clip. from Amazon.com I'm a big fan of iriver products, so I did not hesitate to replace my worn out iriver fm-recorder with an 'upgraded' model. I purchased the iriver mp3/fm/recorders because I am able to record fm broadcasts with excellent quality. from Amazon.com Product is so cool, I bought it for my wife and it is everything a tiny MP3 Player should be. Forget the PODs get iRiver! from Amazon.com My first MP3 player was an the older clunker iriver (but it did last 5 years) so I went back to iriver for an update. I picked up this MP3 player because I didn't need all the extras of the Clix. from Amazon.com I bought this for a few months. at the beginning, I really think it is perfect, the good price, the good size and good sound system and easy to navigate the menu. especially the Lplayer utilizes the D-Click control system that let us navigate menus and controlling the playback by pressing up, down, left, or right on the outer edges of the mini-music box. it seems wonderful, but with the time past, soon I found it quiet annoying, because I put into the pocket(girl's pocket is always tight), whenever I bend down or move position, it will press the button by accidentally, so it will stop the play, I need take it out and redirect my play. from Amazon.com I owned 3 iRiver players before this one during the past 6 years and I like them very much so I ordered this one with high expection. However, it disapppointed me in some aspects: from Amazon.com It's FM recording feature is excellent, with three quality settings(Low, Quality, Medium Quality, and High Quality), you have choices in how much space is taken up when you record. Nor does it take up much space at all on high. Especially compared to my previous player(SanDisk Sansa Clip 2 GB MP3 Player (Black)), Which filled up quickly when recording FM. FM reception is good most of the time, though fitful in buildings. from Amazon.com Headphones that come with it are pretty decent. Transfer rate is quick. Around 3.7 gigs rather than a full 4, but that was expected. The ability to store and read text files is pretty awesome, especially for students. from Amazon.com I purchased the Lplayer to record music for an aunt residing in a nursing home.
