I wonder why Griffin discontinued the Amplifi? I just love the sound and the simple design.
All these other reviews that are not 5 star are lame people who are expecting $1000 dollar equipment, duh this isn't a home stereo system that is going to shake your house. If you want the bang for your buck, this is well worth it!
This is the absolute no-frills iPod dock. I like its simplicity.
This product has great sound, I was really surprised and impressed upon my first use with it. It is akin to a bose system for sure. The bass is outstanding, and it really carries with the volume cranked.
I use this with my first generation 80gb video ipod. I don't use any other audio inputs.
Some good reviews here, no need to add to them except to reiterate the point that reviewer Paul ad. The minimum volume may be too loud for most office settings and you can't micro adjust through the ipod. You can set the equalizer settings and bass reduction on your ipod low but it is still too loud.
Turning the volume dial from mute up one click switches the volume to about 1/3 volume, which is a huge issue for anyone who needs to play music at a low volume - babies room, falling to sleep to music, etc. No, you can't adjust the volume via the iPod. The only work-around might be to plug the iPod in via the line-in input (I never said this is a good work-around).
This little noise maker is one of the best speaker systems that I have ever had the pleasure of owning. I am very happy with my purchase.
