After having Creative Zen Mozaic for about 1 week and loving it. Saw Creative Zen MX on sale with a rebate and thought I would love to have the extra storage. from Amazon.com Bought this based on previous Zen ownership. Nice package but it fails at something very important to me. from Amazon.com I bought this mp3 player because I've had my Creative Zen V for 2 years and was really excited to stick with the same brand. Well like others, the first time I plugged it in, it said there was an error in even recognizing it in my computer "hardware" error but then the second time it worked. from Amazon.com I knew nothing about MP3 players when I started looking for one to buy. I looked at many types but came to the Creative Zen because two friends of mine had this MP3 player and both really liked it. from Amazon.com This is exactly what I was looking for. I wanted something that played Audible books and it does. from Amazon.com Short/Useless USB Cord. Software could be a little less buggy. Would me nice if the back light shutoff without having to lock the player. Other Thoughts: I have owned several creative players (Zen Extra, Zen V+, Mosaic and now this) and this is the best one yet. from Newegg.com Does not accurately create playlists.3. Poor sound.4. Read Other Thoughts for differences between the MX and the normal Zen. from Newegg.com Pros: I've owned a previous model of this (the 2 GB one), and it still works fine to this day! I've used it almost every day for a year. from Newegg.com Memory card seems to work well in the menu. Nice product except... Cons: Very, VERY dissapointed in Creative requiring propriatary cmv codec conversion for the MX version, primarily because their converter to cmv sucks so bad. Unfortunately when I bought this, New Egg didn't make the lack of wmv and avi codecs clear in the specs on the MX that the regular(and older model) ZEN had included in its abilities. from Newegg.com
