She originally wanted iPod, but we compared the features and decided that this one was a lot better deal. She loves the speaker, and she also loves you can set the alarm. We didn't think she needs to take pictures or video with a MP3 player, so the new iPod with a camera/video feature was not a big deal for us. That's a personal preference, I guess.
I have the earlier version of the Sony MP3 player, still enjoy using it very much. The S540 is easier to use, has better sound, and an improved volume level that is good for my use because I play these players thru amplified sources that have speakers.
I just got it about a week ago for my birthday. Love the color, the speakers, the shuffle feature, and just about everything else. The only minuses are the ear buds (but really how many MP3's come with good ear buds) & the fact that it seemed to sync every time I plugged it in to charge-had to turn off the auto sync feature.... The speakers are surprisingly loud-much more than I expected-I listen to it while I'm cooking a lot.
My husband just got one of these new Sony Walkman MP3 players (black), and it is so SWEET!!! I didn't know he was going to get one, he just walked into the room and started showing me pictures from our son's wedding--super crisp--and then parts of a movie, and he played some songs.
This is my first review, so this will be short and sweet. I really enjoy my Sony walkman mp3 it is very easy to download music and to find it on the menu, battery lasts a very long time. Sound quality is very good.
This MP3 player by Sony is the best one I've ever had. It's so easy to download music, videos, and pictures on it, that a child could do it.
This unit has great, traditional Sony sound quality. And I write this not even using the headphones yet, but simply from the built-in speakers.
When searching for a new mp3 player the trail always leads me back to Sony. Its more about overall quality then brand loyalty.
Enjoy hours of continuous music and video wherever you go with Sony's S540 Series. Enjoy a 2.4-inch QVGA screen, wide format support, an FM radio, voice recording, and plenty more in a slim, easy-to-use media player.
