Avid audiobook listeners demand a lot from their mp3 players. Audiobooks are large files, so you'll need an mp3 player with as much space as you can possibly afford. A minimum storage of 10GB is usually a good rule of thumb. This is one case where more is always better.
You should also look for an MP3 player that uses changeable batteries as well as a built-in battery. You might find yourself in the middle of a riveting chapter when your built-in battery dies.
