Pros: I custom built my own Digital Audio Workstation. The Asus is the board I chose. It is very tough, and built exceeding all expectations. from Newegg.com Pros: great mobo really great overclocking got my 920 running at 3.9Ghz really fast with 2 ssd's in raid 0 Cons: board runs hot but you can buy a 40mm fan to on the board to help cool the heat sink on the board. also could be my fault for getting a mid size case but it was managable just got a few high flow fans put one on the out side on the back and mounted the raidator on the inside case and one fan pushing air out and the side and front fans too but pretty loud Other Thoughts: Windows Xp proIntel i7 920 @3.9Ghzasus p6t deluxe v2 mobo3Gb knigston ddr3 1800 ram2 asus en9600gso sli video cards2 30Gb ocz agility ssd's in raid 0rosewill green series 700w psucorsair h50 liquid cooler raidmax sagitta atx mid tower from Newegg.com Pros: After disappointing reliability experiences with Asus on the 775 platforms, I went to Intel mobos for the Core2's (BadAxe2 Mobos) and was very satisfied. Now I'm back to Asus again for my first i7, and I am extremely satisfied, to the point where I'm interested in overclocking again. from Newegg.com Pros: - No installation problems, good bios with lots of OC controls- Six 3gb/s SATA connections is nice, good placement, all are accessible even with 2 super long Radeon HD 4870s Cons: - One of the two onboard gigabit lan ports didn't work- Didn't come with the front panel Q-connector as advertised- Could be a pro for some, but I dislike the Express Gate software that loads on system boot- My Logitech G15 keyboard was not recognized during boot so I had to scrounge up a PS2 keyboard to enter the bios Other Thoughts: I had some trouble getting audio to work, I found out that the dual Radeon 4870s I had installed have onboard HDMI audio processing (for HDMI output to home theatres) and were conflicting with the Asus SoundMax HD Audio device. Cons: -ASUS web site seems a bit tedious to navigate at times, although this is not a direct reflection on the product itself.-Could use more SATA headers. -Could use another fan header, although I easily worked around this by using a y-cable. from Newegg.com Pros: This thing is stable, fast, and pretty. Cons: Weird placement of battery and SATA 1 and SATA 2 ports. from Newegg.com - 4th fan header is hidden under GTX295 = I need it, but it's useless- First PCIe slot shifted away from Southbridge causes interference with SATA ports- Position of SATA and PATA should be swapped- I/O at edge of MB could render 3rd PCIe slot difficult to use at best- Due to the position of the SATA ports, the cables supplied are too short for bottom mounted drives in a reverse ATX case Other Thoughts: Big regret not sticking with my instincts and purchasing EVGA. Right now the Southbridge on this board is getting blazing hot with no overclock. I'll need an alternative cooler for that to replace the boneheaded ASUS piece. The BIOS is weak. from Newegg.com Rock solid with a 920 at 3.9Ghz, 28 days of uptime at the moment. Cons: I spent at least 8 hours trying to set up the RAID controller properly.
