This is one MEAN board, its a bit outdated right now, but who gives a hoot, i can game with the best of them (specially once i get an Nvidia 300 series card coming out sometime end of this year). But even if you aren't gaming, this is a great board all around. You cannot go wrong with Asus, Nvidia, and NEWEGG!! on a side note, i built a PC for my wife, which she uses VERY little, and its a PIECE OF TRASH!!! from Newegg.com Pros: This board has a lot of OC settings to play with and plenty of room to upgrade cpu or graphics card with the hybrid sli. Have not had time or money to tinker with it as far as faster processro/memory/GPU but I think it is a very stable board. I have never owned anything but Asus boards and I love them. I had numerous problems with 4g DDR2 800 memory, so I bought 8g (4 sticks) of DDR2 1066 Patriot memory and Vista Ultimate 64b and have not had one single issue since. Other Thoughts: I love Asus and will always use thier boards. I have never had issues with Asus tech support either, they have been very helpful to me and got me through my early days of building computers. from Newegg.com Other Thoughts: Went to a local store and bought a comparable Gigabyte model and it worked first time on power up. Prob #1 - was after a reboot following windows update my system wouldn't recognize HD at all. RMA'd board for a supposed SATA/IDE controller failure (ASUS Tech Support answer)Received Board back 2 days ago. hooked everything back up only to get the same issue again. from Newegg.com I found a resolution for this problem which is to isolate the board from the case by placing non metalic washers on the stand offs. This seemed to resolve the issue. It would be nice if ASUS included washers since their tech support knew about this problem. I would still purchase another of the same type. from Newegg.com Pros: Good layout, and a good set of features. Cons: Heat, the north bridge runs hot at stock voltage. Other Thoughts: Overall really good board, but if you don't have an ATX full tower with a good cooling system in it then go get another ASUS board. from Newegg.com Pros: 3 PCIx16 slots, two of which run at x16. I had a lot of trouble finding an SLI setup which allows both to run at full speed. The Asus Q-connect is AMAZING when plugging in the power button etc. The BIOS looks very rich but I haven't fooled around with it much. from Newegg.com
